Jolly LLB 2: Disclaimer: At onset let me tell you I am die hard Akki Paaji fan, but when it comes to writing reviews I am not biased.
Off late there has been lot of movies(almost 2 -3 every quarter) which are hardcore entertainers but also come along with social message or satire. LLB - 2 is one of them, with very simple story and straight forward story telling and above all GOOD actors . It you ask me, there have been some many movies with such stories where someone is fighting for rights of majlum. The hero is not always lawyer but can be an inspector, Bhai or Robinhood types. So what is good about this movie?
This is a satire on legal system and nexus between bad cops and criminals. A small time lawyer who wants to become big does a mistake and in order to set himself free from the guilt he decides to fight the system. You must be saying what's new I have already seen such movies.
You are right, but what differentiates this movies is acting of the Annu Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Akshay Kumar .I don't hesitate in saying Annu Kapoor was at par with Akshay Kumar, in fact in court scenes he was Better(at times) than Akki Paaji. And believe me director and Akki Paaji would be knowing this(they have seen movie before us), I am sure they understand movies made around stardom of one person may earn a lot but creative satisfaction often comes as a result of good work of team. I am a fan of Anu Kapoor and this is one of his best performances, the way he speaks, he enacts, he was actually living the character. Saurabh Shukla is back! He is the 3rd corner of the triangle and it was pleasure watching him. He was comic, serious and hard hitting. At times when a junior says lie in front of you or you lie in front of your senior, both knows that one amongst them is lying. I am sure judge goes through this every day, where they have to go by laws and not personal observations.
Akshay Kumar, let me tell you we were so happy watching you playing role of Jolly. You reminded me Akshay Kumar of Hera Pheri . You were the same sweetly wicked Raju, with some extra wrinkles and moustache. Love you Bro. Akshay Kumar is lifeline of the movie, while he was good in comic scenes he was a challenging competitor for Annu Kapoor in legal battle.
Movie has decent songs in first half, another good thing about the movie is script. Very tight, director nowhere lost the track and actually in the movie there is not even one scene where actors are sulking, instead writer chose to move forward .
All in all a good time pass and movie to remember for the good work done by the team!
