In my childhood in Pondicherry we had access to many libraries. After I left Pondicherry, it was not easy to find or use lending libraries.
So I was ecstatic to find JustBooks in nearby Aundh, Pune.
I've been a member since late 2012. And I must have read through an enormous number of books since then.
They are based in some 12 Indian cities and have branches in most of those. They also have a wonderful website: https://justbooksclc.com/
On this website, you can select books that interest you and reserve them. Even if that particular book is not available at your branch, it will be ordered from the branch where they have it. If I'm not mistaken, there is a system by which they will also buy a book for you if they do not have it.
There is also a way, on the website, to download an Excel sheet of the books that you've read.
You can post reviews of those books on the website and rate books.
It's a very user friendly site.
Friendly is the key word, even when you visit their branches in person.
The library had a lot of books and magazines of all kinds.
There are a variety of convenient and well tailored plans for membership, as well as Summer Plans.
The library frequently hosts prominent authors so that you get to meet these figures in person and, during summer, they hold various workshops for school kids.
