Well johnie walker maybe the star attraction to all sikh parties but lets not forget it is nothing more than a simple blended scotch and can never stand its ground against the high n mighty single malts...and if we include single cask malts (whiskies reared and nurtured and aged in one cask for all their lives till they are bottled and fetch about 500 sterling pounds for a nip!) then johnie walker can truly go take a walk...
the events my worthy friend happened to mentionm is a branding exercise which the company is doin rather commonly all over...
well it is a good event seen that they introduce the concept of Tasting as opposed to Bottoms-upping, but apart from that I would call it a big bluff! dont worry its nothing as exclusive an event and provided you have a phone number, they will ring it one day!
at INR 1500 a bottle I dont deem black label expensive at all...blame common plebian mentality at not shelling out money for a certain amount of quality...in factthe very fact that it is now available here in India easily is commendable...
it is a rather average whisky but the branding exercise has placed it rather well...however on the international (and youth) front it is losing a vast market share continually to Jack Daniel's old no.7!
