Ok. Some people think the older ones were better which is fine, but just because he's old he cant make a good movie? I thought that since today they had way more visual enhancements available than 20 or more years ago, so I think this movie was also made to show Americans that this kind of stuff really goes on in foreign countries. Also this movie was so entertaining wen it was over it only seemed to last like 30 minutes I was so into the movie.
Sly was once again able to create a sequal to a movie that many counted out as dead and washed up before its release. However thanks to incredible camera work and probably some HGH the movie was a success. It accomplished exactly what we as movie goers set out in search for. Entertainment. And this movie definitly was entertaining. It was action packed and not over the top. Just what you would look for. In addition the movie was also made in part to bring awareness to the situation in Burma. There has been an on going greusome war for decades where thousands upon thousands of innocent children and people have been killed. So all around this is a good movie. So go out and have a ball rooting for a 61 yr old shooting down the bad guys.
As soon as I saw the bad reviews for this movie- I knew this was a Rambo movie not to miss! I saw one critic from USA Today wondering who the audience was supposed to be for this movie? Well apparently it was ME and a whole bunch of people JUST LIKE ME in the theatre, many of which who were clapping at the end of the movie. Rambo is an AWESOME action movie and Sylvestor Stalone delivered big-time. What a lot of people have not mentioned is the message this movie was actually delivering- so DON'T listen to people who get paid to butcher a movie. listen to the average joe like me and see this movie!
The critics are too afraid to say they like seeing people get blown apart for 90 minutes. This movie is not compelling, intriguing or any of that crap you see other movies praised for. Rambo is nothing but solid awesome. It brings a smile to my face to see so many limbs removed and heads exploded.
Criminals, Communists, ACLU-types, Film Critics, Homosexuals, Daily Kos Kidz, and other various Registered Democrats will NOT like this movie.
Americans and other realists will like this movie. Anyone who has ever seen the horrors of violent oppression and unwanted provocation will understand Rambo's struggle in this film. Liberal Christian Missionaries go into a war zone without so much as a slingshot, and discover the horrendous truth about this planet: It's full of nasty people who WILL KILL YOU without a valid reason.
Conservatives refer to places like Darfur, Burma, Colombia and Iran as the third world. Democrats refer to them as "Developing Countries." Whatever the name, this film serves as a reminder that Toilet Bowls are unfortunately susceptible to scum deposits. Drug lords in South America will kidnap or kill defenseless people to keep their drug trade operational. Orthodox Muslims in Iran will kidnap or kill defenseless people in the name of Islam. Muslims are massacring Christians and other non-Muslims in Darfur as I type this review, and they do it in the name of Islam. Chinese Communists will kill defenseless students for opposing their reign. Fascists operating in Southeast Asia will kidnap or kill defenseless people in the name of a fascist regime. This is especially true in Burma, which has become quite evident with their totalitarian slaying of unarmed Burmese Monks.
Given the current humanitarian crisis in Burma, Stallone recognizes the need to explain that WAR is a necessary evil. President Reagan once stated that Evil succeeds when Good Men do nothing. Well, Stallone picks up his role as a good man pushed too far. He, like most REAL AMERICANS, has no interest in creating a violent situation. He keeps to himself, works for a living and pays his dues. That is until a violent regime goes around Burma raping women, shelling villages and confining young boys to a simple decision: Join me or DIE WITH YOUR MOTHERS.
Yes, it was a violent movie. But the world is a very violent place due to the EVIL that many men do.
Real Americans understand Stallone's POV on how this planet functions. Democrats will always despise the truth. They view it the same way a Vampire views Holy Water.
