Jodhpur is one of the best city I have visited or lived in after Hyderabad and Pune. As I really like to visit new places and exploring the things and places, I would say if you are also travelling addict guy the Jodhpur is one of the best stop for you.
I have been there in Jodhpur 2 times once in month of March for 3-4 days to attempt an examination and the second time for 50 days to be a part of vocational training in ONGC, Jodhpur after 3rd year of my college.
Both the time I loved this place and it's people, it's beauty and so many things.
The Jodhpur, accessibility wise is quite easy as you can directly come here by flight from Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal and other metro cities or you can get the trains also as it is well connected via train to other cities like Kota, jaipur Delhi.
The accomodation wise also it is very good place you can find accomodation in a hotel starting from 1000rs per day upto 300000 rs per day. There are all the types of resort and hotels.
You can plan for Jodhpur for 4 to 5 days stay and can visit Mehrangarh Fort in day 1 then in day 2 you can go for Ummed Palace and Jaswanthada. In third day you can visit the other part of city that includes Mandore Palace and mandore area.
Fourth and fifth day you can visit local jodhpur market , Ganesh tekri. As the Jodhpur is very famous for its handcrafted royel items and food like maava kachori.
I would suggest you to try all these even if it demands one more day.
Safety wise Jodhpur is completly safe as the localite there are very nice to tourist. People are very gullible and will ready to help you without any reason.
I would suggest everybody to visit Jodhpur once in life. Just avoid summer season as it is too hot in summer.
