WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW what a great movie. Brilliant execution, brilliant portray of the mughal era. In a long time I can see the songs fitting so well in the narrative. Brilliant Ashutosh and excellent Hrithik. - 4/5
To be honest I was a real fool to agree to the critic's these type of words. I now really thing that I sould have stuck to the decision of watching it on DVD only. Atleast I wudve saved my 600 bucks and wud ve has some nice kababs from the great indian kabab factory.
Jodhaa Akbar tauted to be as a magnum opus and a grandeur is nothing of that sort. Its a story which has no resemblance to the history apart from the Protagoniost's and character names. Even the name of Jodhaa's cousin's name in history books in Suraj Mal not Sujamal.
The film is so long, so long that it never tends to move on. Its like watching Rahul Dravid batting batting in a test match, even that is faster. Pre Interval portion of the movie is bound to give u headaches but its good news to smokers, can go out a number of times just as I did. [/orange]
The scenes
When AKbar is shot by an arrow and is on the bed fighting his life, Aish goes and sits in from of her Small PERSONALISED temple from dusk to dawn.
Ending portions of the Khwaja Mere Khjawa scene where hrithik gets up and dances
The scene which is a prelude to Sujamal's meeting in secret with Aish
These three scenes will make you laugh more than any akki movie or any govinda movie you have seen till date.
*Performances:
Hrithik - Is strictly OKAY, he is nothing great to be honest and his fans who are saying that this is his best performance, are degrading Hrithik's performances like MK, Laqshya and KMG. Please dont do it.
Hrithik looks aight as an Emperor, body language is also pretty fine, but the problem is his voice modulation. And acc to me Voice is a very important part of a performance unless u are playing a challenged like Rani in Black.
Aish is also OK . This isnt her best performance either.
Rest of the cast is strictly laughable including the much praised SONU SOOD.
The only part of the movie which I liked was the Rajputana Lunch scene and Azeem-0-Shan Song. Azeem o shan song has really been picturised very well.
Over all - A dissapointment from the Lagaan n Swades Man.
Rating - 1.5 on 5
