With the mixed reviews when I entered into the theatre I never knew that I would be watching one of the movies that will be etched in my memory as yet another masterpiece from the maestro of Bollywood.

Ashutosh Gowarikar does an excellent job to say the least but what works for the movie is the cinematography and vast canvas that was chosen the portray the chapters from long gone histroy of Mughal empire. A beautiful, indeed lyrical, presentation that could have been a more of a'docu-drama'.

After watching the flick what one takes back home is Jodha and Akbar, not, Aishwarya or Hrithik, such is the splendour of the movie. Those costumes, sets, battle scenes and everything about the movie is at par with any of those Hollywood flicks that we would have welcomed since they are made in the nether land.

While watching the movie one can get a feel of the glorious past and, unavoidably, however cynical one might be, one ends up praising the efforts put in by the entire team.

"No movie becomes great relying upon sets and costumes, " as one of my fellow journalist remarked. I would like to mention here that the movie also compiles some best dialogues with amazing performances even from the newcomers. Aishwarya is ethereal, I am sure she must have heard this line ample number of times, while Hrithik is Akbar and the royal feel that you get after watching the movie is above any praise that one can shower ona movie like Jodhaa Akbar.

Performances: -

Aish - People who often stated that she is plastic beauty need to get out of their self made cocoons. She doesn't just act but the expressions that she gives are breath-taking. She reminds me of the Indian Bollywood beauties and legends of sorts like Meena Kumari. She doesn't just look blue blooded but also the dignity with wchich she carries out her part is amazing.

No other actress could have done the part better than her and Ashu, whatever people might say but you made the right choice roping her in the cast of Jodhaa Akbar.

I had never seen real Jodhaa but I feel fortunate to have watxhed an actress of Aish calibtre performing the part of Jodhaa.

Hrithik - He started his career as dancing sensation and then moved on to experimenting with different shades of characters. And this time he gives us another pleasant surprise with his portrayal of the historical character - Akbar. He rocks is what all I can say about him.

Others: -

In others I wouldlike to mention Junior Dheer, Ila Arun and Suhasini Mule.they gave their best shot to it and if the movie works they should be given their due credit.
