The jodhas of the akbars. Review on Jodhaa Akbar

Yes, that is what I would call this movie...

Before you go ahead and see the movie, be warned, the movie is 3 hours and 15 minutes long. And it has an hour of "Marhaba". Yup, the same "Marhaba" - "azeem o shan sehenshah - marhaba".

Even after 18 hours of watching the movie including an overnight sleep, I still could not come out of the :"Marhaba" shock.

To put it straightforward:

The movie could have been made better. The scenes were well shot. The energy in the film was good. But the storyline and plot sucks bigtime. There is no "Moral" to the story. The story is terribly slow. It seems like a 2 hr movie extended to 3hr 15 min. Hritik & Ash have done an ok job. They could have put in more force in the movie.

The history has not been described properly. It seems that akbar had numerous queens and slaves - but jodha was his favourite. He used to grab kingdoms by grabbing married or unmarried queens from the kingdoms by force. Half baked truth is worse than a full lie - that's is what my teacher used to say when I was in school.

Most of the sequences were shot trying to replicate similar sequences in hollywood movie. The final fight seems to have been picked up from the fight in troy.

It is about romance, though there is little romance in it. The sound track of the movie is terrible. Maybe it will take me some time to come out of the "Marhaba" shock.

This review is simply about how I felt about the movie. I think ashoka and even mughle-azam were much much better.
