I couldn't agree more with my fellow reviewers....Grab that album for your collection as soon as possible

Rahman just outdoes himself with these gems time and again (altough I do agree I dont like ALL his compositions/albums)

Ashutosh has effectively used the songs to define the flow of the film...hence, despite knowing that the film lasts longer than 3 hours...you still wont mind the musical gems

This one in particular is a collage of different schools.....khwaja mere khwaja has such a strong sufi influence (lyrics, music and undoubtedly rahman's voice adds the finishing sufi touch).....inn lamhon ke daaman mein brings you back inot the real world with the soft romantic feeling (sonu's enticing voice is so truly symbolic of first time lovemaking).....jashn-e-bahara is another good number to hum (most Bollywood-ish amongst all and javed's unique voice is a great find)...mann mohana is a beautiful ode to Lord Krishna sung in the typical bhakti bhajan style (which is reminiscent of Lata's O' Palanhaarey from Lagaan, though mann mohana is not equally good but still has the desired effect)...finally azeem-o-shaan which I'm not a big fan of...but hey, nothing is perfect..this one was solely to lend better structure to the storyline

There are also two bonus instrumental numbers which have again lent themselves effectively to the film's plot and are quite good to listen to

Another great point to be noted is that not only do the songs compliment the movie...but the movie also complements the songs...Im sure ppl who still haven't seen Jodhaa Akbar are liking the music.....but believe you me....you will hear the songs from a completely different perspective once you have seen their picturization...especially the spiritual khwaja mere khwaja  and the romantic inn lamhon ke daaman mein

Finally, lets not forget the https://lyrics.....which provide their own character to each of the songs...javed has spun magic again with urdu quite apt for the period in which the film is set...but I guess the cake (and very soon, the awards) will go to the lyricist for khwaja mere khwaja
