The newspaper has gained widespread popularity due to the general belief that it has an impartial approach towards the happenings in the province and in the country. At the moment, it is considered to be the most widely circulated newspaper of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

A.W.Yousfi (Abdul Wahid Yousafi) a prominent journalist from the province is the founder/owner and chief editor of the newspaper. A.W. Yousafi was also awarded the Pride of Performance in 2008 for his life time contribution to his profession.
