Call - Easily the best Pakistani Rock Band

Originality:

What a Day! One where creatures of a perverted faith have again brought Pakistan to the centerstage and reduced it to a nation of terrorism and anarchy,of people who just wanna kill and do more harm.

On such a day I am compelled to review a band. A very unknown band that needs attention, that needs the visibility that talents from that region just don't get. A band that could easily be Pakistan's best and also amongst the Subcontinent's best. I guess I am saying this carefully.

The band is called "CALL". I'm sure that most wouldn't have heard about them and neither did I. Heard about them when I was searching for some very interesting background scores used in MTV Roadies.

I won't waste time talking about the origins et al. You could wiki it out. On the music front their it varies from soft rock, pop rock to heavy metal. I again won't waste time reviewing then songs but as said earlier" Dude you have to listen to this band....Just listen..trust me you'll enjoy the music"

I'll review the songs in terms of the mood it sets rather than terminolgy, chords, notes et al.

Album - Jilawatan

  1. Kaash - The first time I heard this song was on Roadies(if you remeber the episode in which Numan is voted out). It's a nice, soft, only Guitar song thats the "missing your loved one". A very nice groove, pace to the song and very decent https://lyrics. Atleast listen to this one and then decide if you wanna read the rest of the review.

  2. Nishaan - A song that again slow, nice pace, relax at home after a hard day's work while sipping your coffee. It might seem an Ideal song that one would wanna listen to a band while at the bar or lounge or just while driving with your loved one beside you. You get the Bryan Adams feel in this no.

  3. Sab Bhula kai - Again a lovely mostly Acoustic Guitar song with drums. A very simple no. but very melodious. Lovely melody, nice pace just the ideal one when your walking on the beach or probably when you wanna nice dance with your loved one in your arms

The heavier stuff:

  1. Qismat - This one is a little heavier. Reminds you little of Bon Jovi. Sort of " I wanna a break free...wanna go there and win" You'll like it you enjoy rock, heavy metal...

  2. Shayad - A little more darker and if your a fan of NU Metal you'll enjoy moving your head while listneing to this one. I actually love this one. Reminds you a lot of Linkin Park. Liked them... you'll like this one. The video is there on Youtube so check it out

  3. Pukaar - Easiest reference - Sindabad the sailor- yup nice fun rock song- drums, guitar, melody - It's just fun... This one is a Damn good song. Dude do download this one!

Phew! I done here. Even after this review you ain't listening to them then the loss is yours pal! Never read my review again if you found nothing worth celebrating about this band.

In short - This band may sound similar to many other Rock band but the Urdu brings in the freshness to the band.

Cons- Seemed they fell short of a decent recording studio. Could have done with some better recording quality. Also the album ain't that easily available and has to be downloaded.
