I can say as debut director sujoy ghosh done ok kind job.
The story of the movie is the mixture of two movies. It has the relationship of three friends and then there is the music competition “ Jhankaar Beats”. Wise people must have guessed it’s the mixture of “Dil Vil Pyar Vyar” and “ Dil Chahata Hain” .
Deep and Rishi are two friends working in the same advertising company. And the music is their love. In the evening they practice for the music competition “ Jhankaar Beats”. . They had lost it twice in last two years they are still confident in their ability.
Shanti, Deep’s wife is pregnant and has full confidence in Deep but her arrogant mother never trusts Deep’s musical talent, Director wanted to show that that arrogant mother dont have trust but I dont know why or must be he forgot there is no any good seen showing sashikala some good role as bad sasu ma. Other side Rishi and Nicki are on edge of getting divorced.
Suddenly they get a third partner for their band.Thts sound funny too, the way he get to play with them its happence only in hindi movies. Neel, the son of their Boss, he is an excellent guitarist and very shy. He always makes mistake while expressing his love to Preeti. Well neel ( Shyan munshi) is need to work hard for his acting.
There is one other competition in the film, the advertising campaign for ‘condoms’. The film tells us how they win both of these competitions with fighting with their personal problems. Director tried to get some good comic and masala to make the moviefor 2.30 hrs
The dialogues written by writer/director Sujoy Ghosh is good,few seens are good and its make the movie better like pigeon shits everyday on rishi's car,a neighbor with his ideas of mind-control , Archana Puran Sigh’s entry in office, next-door neighbor who spills her tea almost everyday on hearing Rishi start his car, and the lawyers of Both Rishi and Nicki.
The music in the movie is good and its tribute to the Boss ‘ R. D. Burman’. The only problem in the movie is the usage of English language in dialogues. In this movie, important sequences of the film are in English - in fact, it’s a Hinglish movie. So this movie is for only part of the people in India and not for everyone.
The acting, for the most part, is good. Juhi Chawla shows her charm. She is fantastic. Her expressions and timing as Shanti are just perfect.Sanjay suri is fine. He is calm and matches perfectly with the role as married man and father. . Rahul Bose has great timing as the comic. His eyes, facial expressions are magnificent he stolen the show from others in movie. Rinkie Khanna is average in her role as Nicki. Riya Sen’s acting underlines that she cannot act. Luckily she has very short role. But in that short role also she proves that she has no talent as actress.
Well I feel bad for The great R.D. burman , ppl using his name in movie but no one try to do anything related to him except copying his songs and remixing them. well like dil vil pyar vyar this movie nothing to related with burman da but seems to be director wanted to add everything like family situation, crazy ppl abt music and few more things , but his mistake isadding all kind of situation in movie. He should have choose one thing like family situation while they are preparing for their music competetion , Director should have focus one thing he should have done better job. well its ok movie can watch once. actors like rahul bose, juhi and sanjay wont put u down and dont expect from others
