When you have an Emotional and Romantic heart beating just below ur neck. I bet you can't stop ur self hummin this song for me it is like someone is telling the story of my heart ....

Ye dil naa hotaa bechaaraa, kadam naa hote aawaaraa

Jo khoobasurat koee apanaa, humasafar hotaa ......

One of the best music compilation of S.D. Burman .....in the voice of Kishore kumar, enjoy with this review. This song is taken from the super hit movie **JEWEL THIEF(1967). The story of a guy who's character is well defined in this song. The vital statistics of the movie are:

*Film Name: Jewel Thief 1967

Produces : Navketan ( Dev Anand's home production)

Director: Vijay Anand

Writer:Vijay Anand

Lyricist: Majrooh sultanpuri

Music : S.D. Burman

Actors: Dev Anand, Vaijanti Mala, Tanuja , Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Raj

The Plot

The story is full of suspense, Drama & Thrill. An indian version of Alfred Hichkock but very well indianised........... An Identity Crisis for Vinay, an ordinary young guy (Dev Anand) with Prince Amar, A Jewel Thief. The film tells about how Vinay is trapped by the mafia group in the identity crisis to make him believe that he is a Prince Amar and how Vinay finds it out and rescue himself from the trap. Director Vijay Anand is able to maintian the thrill through out the movie ...... The movie was released around 40 Years before but in my point of view it is some of the movies in where **Story, Music theme & Songs are placed perfectly .... This movie reminds me of Ramesh Sippy's Sholey where every scene and dialogue is utilised very well in the movie, u can't pick a single one to say that it is not useful in the movie.

*The Characters

*Dev Anand plays the role of Vinay and Prince Amar, As usual he is natural with his style, Vaijanti Mala in the Role of Shalu who appears as a fiancee of Prince Amar to trap Vinay. The best Role is played By Ashok Kumar( Arjun Singh), The Image of Ashok Kumar is well utilised to present the character. He is very natural too with the Negatie character. All other characters are played well Tanuja( Anjali) as a supporting actress nominated for the film Fair Award for this movie.

MUSIC & Song

Music Composed by SD Burman The film has Seven Songs. The music was super hit at that time and still after 40 years songs can refersh you

1. Yeh Dil Na Hota Becharaa

Written by Majrooh Sultanpuri sung by kishore kumar ..... Wonderful song enjoy this song with this this review

*2. Hothon pe aisee baat mein dabaa ke chali aayee

*Sung by Lata Mangeshkar and choreographed on Vaijanti mala. The Instruments used in this song for presentation of Drama and situation are marvellous ...... Vaijanti Mala is a great dancer and she convince u confindently in this choreography

3. Asmaan ke niche hum aaj apne piche

In the voice of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar ... Evergreen romantic song

4. Rula ke Gayaa sapna mera

A sad song utilised to creat suspence & trap in the story for Vinay, sung by Lata Mangeshkar. People who have knowledge of classical music can easily understand that its not an easy song to sing ... To believe on my words just give it a try next time u hear this song.

5. Raat Akeli hai

Sung by Asho Bhosle and picturised on Tanuja. Seducing Dev Anand ..... Somewhere I felt Tanuja is not fit for such song ..... She doesn't look natural at all in this

5. Dil pukare aa re aare aare

A romantic Song sung by Kishore kumar and Lataji I don't know why but this song reminds me of that guide song "Gata Rahe Mera Dil tu hi meri ..." picturised on Vahida Rehman and Dev Anand

7. Baithe Hain kya uske paas

A party song sung by Asha Bhosle and pictuarised on Helen beautifully chroreographed specially in those classic days ..... I appreciate the camera angels how it moves with helen and the other girl dancing at a distance with the almost same steps .... A party song where music not only pour masti but also reminds you that u are watching a thriller and suspence movie.

A must watch movie from the Golden Collection of 1960's of Indian Cinema. I know today's generation, All of us have seen more mimicry of Dev Anand and Ashok Kumar than their original perfomance .... This is the movie where u will know why there were heart beats of Indian cinema at those times ....

Offcourse A Not to Miss Classic one A complete Package of Drama & Thrill with best of the Music.
