Jet Airways remind me of IBM OF 1990's. market leader plagued with attrition & compettion eating into the Profits. I usually prefer Jet on all other Indian Domestic Airlines like Indian Airlines, Sahara & the new kids on block like Kingfisher , SpiceJet & self proclaimed friend of indian middle class Deccan.
The only reason i opt for Jet & not Kingfisher is because of its mammoth connectivity to all Indian level & Punctuality.. Airlines are used for its time saving virtue as it allows a person to be on time for majority of his/her chores & on that parameter Jet Scores maximum marks.
The other plus point of travelling in Jet is that it do have a lot of back up flight to all the big cities, thus if you miss one flight you always ahve a chance of opting for the next one which no frill airlines including Kingfisher do not provide.
Few of the minuses which really come as sore thumb are the Apathy of Cabin Crew & the Food Quality they serve, which can be of determintal when you are flying a long distance.
Seating space is really clogged as tall person really have a bad time if you are travelling in Economy.
Pricing in this age of cut throat compettion is really steep as you can easily fly return with a no frill airline for the cost of one seat in Jet one way.
In all Jet is refocussing itself on Business class & definately its not for indian middle class.. To create a niche with frequent Fliers Jet is loosing it on to the big chunk of Indian Middle class whose spending power is increasing every economic year.
Being a Company which is listed on the Stock Exchange & being answerable to share holders its imperative for Top Mnagement of Jet to make this Elephant DANCEunless sooner then later a day will come Jet may have to say Bye Bye to Indian Sky & even the acquisition of Sahara is not going to help it any way. I sincerely hope this Elephant like IBM too learn how to dance fast & keep indian sky bestoweed with ist professionalism. In cabin services leave a lot to be desired so Jet havea lot of though to Think. Are u awake Mr. Nresh Goel?.
