Jet Airways is the first private carrier in INDIA in many aspects, from Online booking, web check in, International Flights and many more. Jet Airways caters mainly to the private sector corporate travelers and Businessmen as they are in need of consistent service and professionalism.
I had flown in jet Airways in MAA - HYD (Chennai - Hyderabad) sector during last September. I had booked thru web and they offer low fares for online booking which is 40- 50 % lower than the normal fare. But there are restrictions on the fare.
The Check in was smooth, I was given a window seat as requested, but the one on emergency exit. The advantage with this is more legroom and food tray in the arm rest. So no need to worry about the position of the seat in the front row.
The Flight was delayed by 20 Mins due to the late arrival from Delhi. The Passengers were kept informed about the delay.
The flight is a Boeing with 3+3 couch seating. With ample legroom and space. The take off was a smooth one and we were served with wet towels and toffees. The snacks consist of a packed orange Juice, a Burger, pastry and some cookies. The Burger was little cold, except that, the snacks was wholesome and delicious.
There was an offer on board, There were some AD brochure (HSBC, Mont Blanc) and a questioner, based on the brochures, on filling that every month some prizes were given, I Pods, Tissot Watches.. Nice Idea..
A feedback form was also given to pen out suggestions.
Actually the flight was through Bangalore and we landed in Bangalore after 30 Mins. Though the flight was only for 30 mins the Air hostess were fast enough to serve welcome drink, snacks, and collect the feed back forms.
In Bangalore, except some 3 passengers who are to HYD, everyone disembarked, and the cleaning crew, cleaned the aircraft, changed the headrest covers, replaced News papers, In-flight magazines, and there was a security check for the passengers who were staying back in the aircraft for HYD. All within 10 Mins... Awesome.
The Aircraft was refueled in Bangalore and after that the boarding for BLR - HYD, and BLR - MAA is allowed. The aircraft was fully occupied mostly by people from IT sector. Once again.. Wet towels, toffees... and the Lunch were also served. I opted for a Non veg meal which consists of some Fish Curry, Rice, Sweet, Curd Rice and Some pickle. the Cutlery is specially designed for Jet Airways and the food is delicious, specially the Fish Curry without Bones... mmmm..... Another round of orange drink. The flight is for an hour, so after the lunch I took a quick nap.
We landed in HYD at 12.40 PM as scheduled and the Caption updated on weather, landing directions and details.
The landing was smooth and we moved to the airport thru Aerobridge, the baggage arrived with minutes and I moved to my office directly which is opposite to the airport.
The Overall experience is excellent and paying half of the actual fare, I enjoyed the full comfort.
Even Now Jet airways offered discounted tickets to all sectors and I made a booking for a friend in HYD - BOM Sector and the fare is just 10-20% higher than that of offered by LOW COST Carriers.
I would suggest everyone to check for Jet Web fares before opting for Low cost carriers, so you can travel in style and comfort. And If you have only cabin baggage, try the web check-in facility, using which you can get a boarding pass printed from Home/office and select the seats by yourself.
