With Kingfisher in the doldrums, and no one wanting to fly Air India, Jet Airways has taken to really nickle and dime-ing its customers and its customer service has gone down the tube. Latest examples:
If you book on their wesbite, they charge you a Rs100 convenience fee+ service tax! YOU are doing all the work and they are charging YOU a convenience fee. WOW! Worldwide you are charged a fee if you call an airline booking centre, and not if you book on the website
If you are a Jet Priviliege member, the JP centre can not be bothered to answer any of your emails. EVER. And, you can not cancel an award ticket on their website(which you can on the Kingfkisher website - their frequent flyer program is awesome). So, you have to spend money calling them, be put on hold while they "check" their booking and then be charged a cancellation fee for the award ticket in Rupees AND miles! What scumbags.
Worst of all - and this is equivalent to fraudulent behaviour now - their website was not working properly on Sep 13/14th for booking - so my booking transactions were not completed by THEIR website but they charged my credit card for the failed transactions! Since I tried a couple of times with two different cards, I now have a bunch of failed transactions, which have been charged to my Credit Card. Can you beat this behaviour - this is how a swindler behaves, holding on to your money and making you jump through loops to get your own money back.
Be very careful of this issue now that RBI introduced this two-tier security system - so that once you enter your internet security pin, and the merchant server fails, then the whole onus of the transaction falls upon you. Of course, if you have a swindling, thieving merchant on the other side of the transaction - the matter just gets infinitely worse.
Here's wishing for a quick revival of Kingfisher Airlines - I never flew Jet Airways when KF had their network operating - they are always so helpful. Jet Airways is no different from a cheap discount airline now, except they charge you full fare and swindle you left, right and centre.
