I am enjoying my extended weekend with books, food and movies.here comes my mother with a worried look. " Did you know?(!)".that is always the tricky one! It may mean a lot or may be nothing~ I looked at her with innocence and say " no mom.what?".. " ABC is pregnant"."Great, so?".a long pause."you are not even married!!"

I am not 30 going on 40! I am just 24.( **Shyam.you are not debating that one!) and marriage is not a concern right now.for me at least.but for mom and for all the moms of young nothings, it becomes one.when:

  1. The marriage season is on!

  2. The same age friends gets married!

3.  Your cousin/friend/neighbour( in this case ABC) who is same age as yours decide to have a kid!

  1. They think you are talking to "A" particular guy at all the wrong times and for all the wrong reasons!

The recent ad from "JeevanSathi" where the poor dad is looking for an ideal match for his daughter is a brilliant take off from the real life. The ad shows the desperation of parents for getting the best match.one big dream and a life time investment.marriage still is considered the last duty of every parent and each one wants to make the best of it. The ad beautifully capture this and a lot more.the other important aspect that it shows is that parents are now willing to cover that extra mile and talk it out with the children and not push them into a marriage!

Talking about marriage is not the best topics in the world.and when parents need to sit down with their girls.it just becomes difficult.for them! I can imagine when they would talk about the "birds and bees" .!  Coming to marriage and its pre event preparations.my mom wanted to know my take on men! " My idol", "my idea of a perfect husband", "men in my life" .etc! Well well well.I have never thought about them seriously(!).it is kind of strange when MY MOM and everyone around me wants to know what I think of men( in general!) and what is that I want.in men!

So now.I will talk about few of my favorite "things".I mean men! I would try to typo them in categories and it is difficult.they are all the same;-)

  1. Prince Charming- Of course I cannot do with our princes and their worldly pleasures.men who earn money unexpectedly, get fame at the least important phase of their life and men who are pampered by even the governments. .that is my first type of favorite men! Men like those are rare to find and you need to really dug up quite a few to get the best ones;-)

  2. Cook na kaho- Men who spice up life are my second type of favorite men! According to Shanti, "Variety is the spice of life" and men who believe in this.are the ones for me! So if you are bland and are intersted in just one flavor of life.move on~

  3. Guy next door- This one is actually difficult to find.these are simple looking people just living their life.but they have a decent heart and a better job! They come home on time, take care of wifey dear and do not talk much.I wud seriously do away with these ones but then rarity needs to be appreciated and preserved.so they still take a position on my list!

  4. Cheeky self mocking clowns- This is special ones.men who smile and who smile a lot, take away my heart quite easily.! Infact any person who feels free to express stands out for me.and men do not do that easily.humor is difficult genre and if someone can carry it off.well, then I am already half way bowled.the rest is money honey!

  5. Intelligence?- That is least on my priority list.I am not looking for intellectuals who sit down each evening with me to discuss politics, strategic financials or national security.! On the other hand, I would not stand anyone who does'nt know his world or any world.! An intelligent talk is anyday better than gibberish.and when two intelligent people talk.it can do a lot.and can lead to a lot too!

So that is my take on my favorite men.Men like Adi, Mayank and Shyam( On MS!), Omar, Rajdeep and Bill  (on earth!)are all taken up.I can just sigh! My soul sisters Abha and Shanti are trying their best to find me the best one but  " the better ones are married or gay"!  Magscan still help and others are free to join in as well.after all marriage is not about two people.it is much more!

Comments are welcome.please do not send in marriage proposals though.I m not accepting them now! Feel free to highlight your achievement too.a happy marriage in this case;-)
