My office decided we all had worked hard for sometime and needed a break. So the hunt for all good hotel deals was sought and after some research and thought Jaypee mussourie was finalized. It was august (if I remember right) and as it was rainy season we got discounted rates.
When at Jaypee we were very warmly welcomed with juices etc as we were about 40 people on a corporate trip. The hotel has very big rooms and all rooms have very beautiful scenery from the window. We were provided tea bags and coffee mix along with water warmer, so tea and coffee was available in room whenever we needed it. The food at hotel was very nicely prepared. The Complimentary breakfast had all the fruits, breads, juices etc and was wholesome and full with choices.
There is a beautiful jogging track around the hotel where you can have a great time going round and round. There is an indoor pool and we all friends played water polo in it and had a great time. There is a bowling alley and so well tried our hands at bowling. Then there was Table tennis and croquet also. For more adventure there was also video games (car and bike racing) and table hockey.......hoooh so much to do and bad part was that we were there only for the weekend. Croquet is a game I saw in Alice in wonderland in a cartoon when I was a kid. The game looked easy but excited me enough. We 3-4 friends played it together and had a great time.
In the evening we all went to the hotel disco. Frankly I did not have many hopes from a disco in a hotel in a remote place. But no I was wrong,,, the DJ was great and churning out one magical number after another, the size of the dance floor was just right, not too big not too small, the lightings produced the right effects, we danced so much that the next morning almost all the people had problem walking. The bad part was that they close the disc at 12:00 hrs....That’s the time we had just got into the groove, we cajoled them into playing some more songs and carried the dance till 01:00 hrs but then the party was over. There were some beautiful people staying in the hotel and so we had a great crowd dancing.
You need just a day to let the beauty and the fresh air around you to sink in. The fresh air of the mountains and all the greenery is what we people of the city just dream about. We had heard that there is a way in the mountains that lead to the mall. Alternatively the hotel also provides shuttle to the mall. But I and my friend decided to take the dirt road. We asked some locals about the way and started on our trek to the mall. The best part of the trek was the peace that was there in some portions of the trek. It was so peaceful that all you could hear was the beating of your heart and heavy breath from the climb.
So if you all people are looking for an escape from the daily routine life and want to spend some good time relaxing and with your families and friends jaypee mussourie is the place.
