The age old adage “ an apple a day keeps a doctor away “ is soothing to our senses even today, but we want spiced up food, with lot of tamarind, fat etc, which starts corroding our metabolism.  Whenever I have to visit a doctor, it sends shiver down my spine, because chances of wrong diagnosis or being made to consume incentive loaded drugs. The so called super specialty hospitals are well aware that the patients visiting them are eligible for corporate reimbursement.  I had been to one of the super specialty hospital for a master health check up.  I have a history of diabetic well under control, I have even given up smoking and drinking to a large extent.  I mean there is no craving like before.  Despite this information I was prescribed all sorts of drug for cholesterol, one more drug for diabetic, blood pressure and weight control.

I quietly took the prescription from the doctor and saved it for posterity.  The reason being cholesterol drug I had consumed earlier once for 3 days, I started becoming restless causing memory loss.  Many persons known to me have experienced memory loss by consuming TG Tor or some other brand.  Doctors are very well aware of this fact, but they are offered lucrative incentive maybe even a foreign trip to prescribe this highly profitable drug.  Another craving earlier was to consume lot of spares, such kidney, lever, and brain which gave me symptoms of Gout.  I immediately cut all the above so called spare parts.  No wonder they are sold cheap in the market place.  The symptoms of gout vanished.  Gout can be quiet painful pricking sensation.  There is no need of any medication just change the diet and one is on the way to recovery.

Recently I heard that in heart surgeries lot of money is exchanged hands.  A stent or pronounced as stunt call involve passing almost 50% of the cost to the doctors and management.    A costly stent cost around a lakh and imagine 50% sharing.  The dealer earns 5 K whereas the cost of the stent is 35 k.  A heart patient s relative suffer uneccessary financial shock apart from his physical discomfort.  I don t want to be a munnabhai to suggest remedies in medication only dieting is the way out.  Cutting fats to the barest minimum is recommended.

Many a patients believe that Doctors are saviours, but they have long forgotton the Hippocrates Oath and are busy recovering the investment on their education.  The real serving spirit is missing.  One should be damm lucky to get a doctor, who is not greased with incentives from Pharma or diagonistic laboratories.  A doctor can easily diagonise whether a patient is affected by thyroid fluctuation, but they recommend test to rule out which is a costly affair.  Brain scanning is also a profitable prescription.  Well if  I keep penning down maybe I will have to undergo Brain scanning LOL.  Good luck and beware of  your prescription friends.  Tell your doctor to prescribe IDPL or FDC manufactured drug and see the shock on their face.  It costs only 10% of the rest of the drugs.

By the way my nephew works for Jayadeva Hospital who is brilliant to the core, and he is unaffected by commercial crass.  Please consult him he is Dr Nagaraj as of today.  One can never predict for tomorrow.  Go for second opinion always.
