Meet inimitable Jassi…
Jassi is the eponymous character of this serial. This serial is about her life, her dreams, her beliefs and her struggle for survival in a fashion Industry namely, Gulmohar. The world of Gulmohar is a world of glamorous and gorgeous people, where Jassi tries to find a place of her own. And her hopes are her family, her friend Nandu, her boss and her God. This serial is about Jassi’s trials and tribulations.
Jassi is all brain and no beauty… yet we can sense a beautiful girl inside… craving to get acknowledged through her work… She is intelligent… trusts easily… she is gullible… her innocence is alive… and you can see it behind those thick glasses… she is just inimitable…
All the actors and actresses seem to do justice to their characters. They sometimes appear just the characters they are playing. And of course Jassi’s performance is outstanding. Apporva Agnihotri is playing Armaan and he seems just so heartless when he scolds Jassi for no reason at all. Rakshanda Khan as Mallika and we just hate her when she plays tricks on poor Jassi! Raj played by Parmeet sethi is hilarious. And others like Aryan-dignified man but rival of Armaan, Pari – blockhead girl and rival of Jassi, Nandu – a helping friend, Maddi- another comic character. All these characters have their own idiosyncrasies… and they all seem more or less realistic…
This serial definitely makes some sense… and there couldn’t have been a better time to air this serial. After a long time a sensible serial is here for us… which doesn’t have foolish, unrealistic dialogues of high morals and values… which doesn’t start with the alphabet “K”… which doesn’t have a melodramatic sequences… which does make some sense… which definitely seems realistic.. and which we can, if not empathies at least can sympathize with…
This serial is an attempt to present a clear picture of the prevalent society.. where nothing matters but the package… the outer beauty… truth, innocence, honesty seems just vestigial parts in the body of this society…
Personally I like this serial a lot… and I feel it’s a step to overthrow all that idiocies on the idiot box.
