Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin! You've heard it across the radio, plastered against hoardings in down, or blaring from the TV screen. So what is this thing yaar? What's so great? Now that I've seen it the publicity is worth it, believe me! Hats off to such a marvellously crafted show and everyone involved!

So what is the basic storyline of this show that's got everyone talking? Basically, a bespectacled ('Chashmish Choohiya' as office colleagues call her) ugly duckling called Jasmit Walia is filled with a good heart and a whole lot of brains. Unfortunately, her packaging is not so 'pleasing to the eye'. From day one when she joins a fashion company called Gulmohar House, she has to face gibes for her awful dressing style and face. The serial tells the tale of how Jassi fights her way up through business meshes and wins everyone's heart with her sweetness and intelligence, despite her horrible looks. Thank god- Ekta Kapoor family dramas move aside!

So what are the events and characters in her life? Dad Billoo, Mom Amrit, Grandma Bebe and friend Nandu are overflowing with joy when Jassi makes it into the post of secretary in a high class company. But that's only the beginning of the trouble.

Everyone, whether the gay designer Maddie, the competition for secretary, sexy Pari, her flirty boyfriend and head of distribution Raj, the grey-shade associate-chairman Mallika, her brother Aryan, all of them pull faces when Jasmit, or as Dad calls her, Jassi enters. The only one who gives a damn is Mallika's fiancee and chairman of Gulmohar, suave and handsome Armaan Suri. On many occasions she pulls him out of deep water, be it Mallika coming to know about his ex-girlfriends or the battle with his rival for chairman, Aryan. Slowly slowly, he begins to trust her and her capabilities. But more importantly, she begins to fall in love with him! One-way street? Who knows? One thing's for sure though- Jassi's on her way upward, and it's gonna be one helluva bumpy ride!

You ask me how you felt watching it? What the viewer experiences? Ok then... It is simply put- outstanding. Jassi's clumsy antics and sugar-coated words strike a chord in any viewer's heart. You really feel for her. And what's more, there just may be people like her in real life. Maybe she lives on the second story of your building. Maybe she handles files in your office. At least she doesn't rotate agarbattis around the Tulsi plant in Shantiniketan (Kyunki Saas and others wilts in comparison)!

It's not to mention hilarious! Dialogues are crisp and subtle, and tinged with a great sense of humour. You burst out laughing at times and giggle to yourself -Looks like trouble's coming! Example- '' Ma'am coffee laaya hoon, iska kyaa karoon?'' '' Jaao gareebon mein baanton!''

Even the fantastic and rightly-placed music leaves you in splits. Watching Pari's, Mallika's and Aryan's plans getting foiled is pure ecstasy. Funny music, funny script, funny dialogues. Makes quite a heady concoction you know! A delicious and really enjoyable one at that!

Did the actors do a good job?

You bet they did!

Jasmeet Walia as herself is superb, sweet and loveable. A girl everyone would like and relate with. Considering this is her first acting experience, give her a hand! Apoorva Agnihotri, although not faring too well in the films, does well here as Armaan Suri. He does however overact at places and you will sometimes get bored by his monotonous expressions.

Parmeet Sethi as Raj Mallik is masti incarnate as a flirtatious and funny singleton. Maninee De as the bats-in-the-belfry haute lass Pari is just what she's supposed to be- dumb and oomph-radiating. Rakshanda Khan is extremely icy and partial as Mallika Seth. Something so cold requires effort, and she's put it in. All in all, everyone's great and has performed their roles to satisfaction.

Don't you wonder at the end of all this-why should I see this? what's unique about it?

For those who do, huh....I'll take a deep breath. It's zara hatke storyline, great music, dialogues, characterisations and what not can only be missed by a blind man. Out of this world! Sweet and simple, not gaudy at all! Very realistic, and it warms the cockles of everyone's heart. In this way, it depicts both conservative and outgoing mindests of the common Indian. Allah ka Shukra, women in western clothes aren't depicted as horrid family-wrecking witches!

Get to the point! Is this worth my time?

It certainly is partner! I recommend this with all my heart! Go ahead and see a serial and a girl who dare to be different! It's so much fun and simple joy to follow something so sweet, laugh-riotous, heart-warming and not larger than life. All in all, MAGNIFICENT! Jassi to Gulmohar house may look ugly although she has brains, but you definitely have no brains at all if you deny yourself the pleasure of watching this entertaining and enlightening show! So go and turn on the TV and peek-a-boo. Because I guarantee to you that Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin Jaisa Koi Nahin!
