Janet Jackson is a formidable woman in the industry of music. Having at least five hits each off her previous two albums Control and Rhythm Nation 1814, expectations for her third album were high. As usual, Janet never fails to please. Janet proved to be an intimate look inside the sexual being of Janet Jackson; a quality that was only hinted at on her previous album.
The first single of the album is the sexy and exciting ''That's The Way Love Goes''. Fueled with erotic lyrics, an intoxicating beat and excellent production this song was a well deserved hit. I love the way it sounds laid back, like making love on a lazy afternoon. Janet always knows how to set the mood.
''If'' is another song that delves into the sexual being. Starting off with a sample from the Diana Ross classic ''Someday We'll Be Together'' it quickly unleashes a hard, definite beat and a rapid fire of sexy https://lyrics. Janet's voice is low and husky on this one.
One song that I personally think is brilliant that was never released on the radio is ''This Time''. Starting with a beautiful opera solo it slowly changes into the ultimate kiss off song. Make sure to check this track out.
''Again'' is probably one of my all time favorite slow songs from Jackson. Vulnerable, aching and sweet I have found many times in my life where this song accurately describes how I feel. The melody is perfect, the production is subtle and effective and the end result is fantastic.
Janet is another triumph for this highly talented, industrous woman. Her beauty, sensuality, intelligence and drive shines through on this album. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of high quality pop/R&B music.
