I normally spend considerable time on the roads on the way to work in bangalore and thought of buying a good headset to take call while in traffic .

I researched quiet a few as me and my family own a few different type of earphones.

ear buds style: here there are basically 3 types, 1) no buttons on ear phone type like the apple ear buds, 2) touch buttons like the samsung buds or older Iconx and 3) push buttons like the jabra elite 65t. All work very well, however you need to check what your primary use is. If there are no buttons you need to pick and end calls using your phone, all three brands sound really nice with the Jabra elite 65t having the best sound quality.

The ones with buttons can be used without having to pull out your phone, however touching the earpiece might also knock them out of your ear. this is specially true if its a press button.

the samsung ones and most have a hear through mode, which allows some ambient noise or only human voices to be hear even though there are ear phones in your ear and this is really nice in a office or traffic to respond to shouts outs to you or horn in the traffic.

However such head sets are not usefull for riding with a helmet as the voice reception is muffled by the helmet and they tend to fall off while removing or putting on the helmet.

The neckband or wire loop style are handy for use in helmets and the jabra elite 65e is a star among them. the voice pickup is crystal clear and wind noise is minimized by it propriety 4 mic configuration. in addition it is one of the few with a mute button which can be used during calls when you are only listening. The Platonic voyager also has a similar mute button, but its a single ear piece one. By design the mic also hangs just near the mouth when earpieces are secured in the ear giving it a direct access to the voice source.

the jabra 65e also has Active noise cancelling, and pass through mode where ambient noise or sounds can be heard, you can also set the level of your own voice feedback during calls via the sound plus app which is available for both android and iOS .

one of the other important features to check is the battery life, some of the minimalistic looking wire band earphones have an impressive 6 hour backup like the Jlab BT. the jabra 65e gives an impressive 8 hour play or talk time with about 2 hour charging time for a zero to full charge. I have actually used my jabra for 2 days at a stretch without charging with use as a music playback device on my 1.5 hour travel to office each way and with about 2 hours of talk time added.

the ear buds style of earphones come with a charger box and can be recharged by placing in the box, but they cannot be used for that time!.

this jabra also has a button for voice assistant which can trigger the alexa or siri and you can then use voice commands to control music playback from amazon music or do other stuff that can be done with these voice assistants.

lastly, I unfortunately had reason to use Jabra service, which I must say was five star, they replaced my headset for me in warranty!
