Does the job but had its own share of shortcomings

Battery life:

I'm an old-fashioned guy & I love the simplicity of a mono BT headset. I currently use a Philips SBH-1603 which was purchased from Amazon for around 900rs. It recently got drenched in rain & refused to power-on, thats when I bought the Jabra headset as a replacement.

Considering the Jabra is 300rs more expensive, I did have hopes that it will be an improvement upon the Philips. But sadly - it was not. Don't get me wrong - the Jabra does exactly what it says. But the Philips SBH-1603 was just better.

Heres how:

  • Does not show the battery level on the phone once connected. The cheaper Philips did.

  • Talk time is around 6hrs, Philips had 8hrs

  • The main button is very oddly placed. Pressing it for accepting or rejecting calls is a pain.

  • The power on/off button is a toggle slider behind the earplug. That's just poor design.

What does it do well?

  • Sound quality is spot on

  • The mic is sensitive & no issues with voice reception. No complaints from the other side.

What could have been better?

  • The placement of the action button & power on.off switch

  • The charging port is on the top. should have been at the bottom

  • I can live with 6hr talktime but I would want to know the battery charge level on the phone

Honestly, I would still recommend my trusty Philips SBH-1600/1603 over the Jabra. This is still a good product which is constructed well and should do its job well. I guess I had higher expectations for something which costed more.
