After successfully trying Zovi.com and having an excellent experience with them, was slightly worried about jabong, after all the reviews I'd read on mouthshut. Took a chance ordering a pair of shoes, with the Cash On Delivery option. Got a call from Customer Care barely within a minute to confirm the order. Item was shipped the very same evening and delivery was attempted the very next day. I was quite impressed by the speed of the process, honestly.


But unfortunately, I wasn't in town to accept the delivery the next day. When I checked the courier tracking page provided by jabong.com, which said delivery had been attempted even when I told the delivery chaps not to when they called me. The day after, I waited at home all day for my shoes to be delivered. I even left my door open, just in case. I was refreshing the courier tracking every now and then and eventually found another entry saying delivery had been attempted 15 mins ago and that the door was locked. Which was obviously ridiculous, since I was right in the living room waiting with the door open. I immediately called Customer Care and was told that since delivery had been attempted three times, the product had to be returned and that I had to place a fresh order. When I grudgingly agreed to place a fresh order, I was told the size I wanted was not available.  I was quite upset on hearing this and hung up after berating them for their terrible service.


I'm not sure if Customer Care even did anything about my complaint or if the local delivery guys themselves decided to try delivering again, but I received a call the next day from the local delivery chaps asking me when they could come again and deliver. He apologized for the wrong tracking information and asked me when he could come again. This time I had to call them back again to make sure they delivered in the morning, since I could not wait at home all day and finally got my shoes delivered after waiting 5 days.


I opened the package and tried on the shoes before paying the guy(I was told by Customer Care that I could return the shoes immediately in my postal code if the shoes did not fit, when I confirmed the order). Shoes fit well, finish was just as expected and represented well on the website.


I got a call from Customer Care today, a day after delivery, to apologize for the mix-up and the lady was very polite and told me that the issue had been escalated and that appropriate action had been taken. I was actually surprised by this call. Appreciated the personal touch. Not bad, Jabong, not bad at all. I suppose I will give it another go sometime. Cash On Delivery only though!


One suggestion for Jabong.com from my side: For footwear, please do have separate size guides for different brands, like Myntra.com does. So much more accurate.
