I will be very honest upfront. I have never really liked any of Kareena Kapoor's films much. with this one also I wasn't really expecting too much of her.

Just the fact that it was directed by Imtiaz Ali(of Socha Na Tha fame) was enough to drag us to the theatres on a friday night.

The promos looked nice and fresh and if I may say - a typical Imtiaz kinda film

It is actually a compliment that in just two films, he has established a style of his own.

The style which is about narrating a story, about characters, about real places and real locations.

Although it would be a little hard to believe that a wonderful love story like this could really happen in life.

but then again that is why we go to the movies.

Kareena's character Geet reminded me a lot about Phoebe from Friends.

She talks a lot, talks about everything, talks inane stuff and is impulsive and spontaneous.

Shahid on the other hand is a rich businessman who is frustrated with his life - a character he has not played before and does it with most honesty.

The two as we know meet on a train that they miss and the journey starts on from there.

The first half is hillarious. with sweet jokes and the irony that happens when two contrastingly different characters come together or rather are stuck together in a situation

The dialogues are a complete winner in this film

Even a line like "Main apni sabse favourite hoon", is cute.

Kareena is completely the character and like I said her best performance ever.

The second half kind of takes a slow start and leads up slowly to the climax.

But like they say all's well that ends well.

And so it does.

The songs are pretty hummable but we could do without the songs as well. they don't take the film further.

Everything was a-one, except a little technical complain with the director.

In the train sequence at the beginning, the chroma shoot done is quite amateurish. Dunno whether the lay audience will mind it, but it kind of looked bad.

Same for the sequence in the car. with advancement in chroma shoots, it is not acceptable.

Apart from that, the film is a definite watch.

Kudos to Imtiaz Ali. who is here to stay for a long time and hopefully narrate some more beautiful   yet simple love stories.
