Let me start by admitting that I am not the biggest fan of romantic movies, and when I was forced to go watch Jab we met by my sister, I was all but ready to throw in the towel and sulk the movie out. But to my utter surprise the movie was everything I did not expect it to be, it was funny, romantic and surprisingly fast paced for a Hindi movie. I was half expecting the movie to be about an interesting affair. I have to admit that the big off screen break up had me curious, but I have to admit there was chemistry between the lead pair of Kareena and Shahid.
In fact, my favourite part about the movie was that it did was just a little over 2 hours and if the director wants he can cut out songs all together and make the movie even more interesting. Kareena plays the role of the talkative(extremely talkative) girl who believes in everything good and true, while the beginning of the movie shows Shahid aimlessly wandering the streets of Bombay.
The movie should be a success for two reasons, the first is that the movie is not overtly mushy and romantic scenes are present in useful doses, Kareena and Shahid make a hilarious pair together and the films comedy is what will eventually win the hearts of the audience. Did I mention the chemistry? There is no denying that the pair makes a great onscreen couple and their break up is just unfortunate.
Another factor in favour of the movie is that it does not drag on for a single minute, the movie is fast paced and it continues to keep the audience interested(in spite of the boring songs). If you are looking for a movie that is fast paced, funny and a little romantic, go watch jab we met.
