There was always a difference between Aditya Chpora and Yash Chopra’s movies that Yash ji’s stories were always easy to understand and you need to put various logics to understand what Aditya Chopra wants to say. With the promos of the movies I was waiting for another melody and a deep romantic feel but In this piece of art I could see more of Aditya than Yash Chopra.
Shahrukh was as always good when he performs in Chopra Camp but the disappointment were two ladies(actually I was very disappointed when heard that Katreena is going to be a part of this movie, everyone in this world knows that she is not a very good actor and its simple to understand!). Anushka was louder than needed and she is not that hot as she is depicted.
The story was not simple and certain logics were out of my understanding, the logic of separation of Shahrukh and Katreena was not easy to digest, on the same grounds Shahrukh being in bomb squad is not very strongly presented, sometime you keep wondering what kind of character is being show in Major Anand and gets a lot of confusion which never allowed me to form a single view about his character in the movie.
Talking on the music related part we can say that Rahman Saab disappointed on composing and the “Chopra Brand Melody” was completely missing, other than Chhalla and Saans none of the other songs would be on your tune for a long time, Ishq shava was disappointing and same about other songs, Lyrics are average but I loved the way Shreya Ghosal and Mohit Chauhan sung Saans and Rabbi was also good.
On the better side some of the movie could produce that romantic feel in parts, some of the scenes were real romance especially the scene when Shahrukh meets and accident and Katreena enters the room, The beautifully sung “Saans Reprise” added flavor to romance, other scenes especially in second half were good, but overall there was a gap in so coveted Romance of Yash Chopra.
At the end I can conclude that the search of a love story comes to a destination but the holistic Yash Copra Romance was restricted to a few scenes. Overall the movie was average but sporadic presence of Yash Chopra factor could give it a facelift.
