Jaanemann is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year- and why not? With an enviable star cast and lavish production values, this one is tipped to be a blockbuster. Thankfully, this movie also scores browny points on its music, composed by the veteran music director Anu Malik and lyrics by the legendary Gulzar. Kudos to Anu Malik and his team for a terrific and magnificent score that is classy, mersmerising and noteworthy.

The album starts with "Humko Maloom Hai" sung by Sonu Nigam and Sadhna Sargam. Its an awesome poece of work. Difficult to compose and sing, this track completely grows on you with its different melody and accompanying musical arrangements. Special mention is a must for the underrated Sadhna Sargam for her outstanding rendition. Overall, a beautiful melody that instantly connects with the listener.

Next is "Jaane Ke Jaane Na", a modern qawwali on the lines of 'Tumse Milke" from Main Hoon na also composed by Anu. While the singers (Sonu and Sukhvinder Singh) do a terrific job, its the tune that fails to entertain. Although the musical arrangements are grand, this track remains average at best and doesn't do complete justice to the talented people involved.

"Ajnabi Shehar" deserves only one word-"Masterpiece". Reminiscent of old melodies but with a modern approach, this track works wonders. Anu surpasses himself with this composition and Sonu Nigam transcends his vocal capabilities to render a flawlwss melody- his vocals flowing seamlessly with the background music and the result is a perfect 10. Listen to this one and you will know what I am talking about. Gulzar's lyrics complement beautifully to the soulful music. An awesome effort.

But wait- there is more! "Sau Dard"- the next track makes the world around you more beautiful with a tinge of sadness. Sonu Nigam's heartfelt and soulful rendition along with the haunting melody makes this track one of the best to hit the music world this season. Really, this is an exceptional creation- close your eyes and savour this mersmerising experience.

Next is "Uddh Jana...BRO" sung by Kunal, Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan. It's ROCKING. Again, magnificently arranged, this track livens up the album takes it to another level. All singers do a commendable job and make this number quite foot tapping.

"Kabool Kar Le" is an above average situational track. Rendered effectively by budding young talent, this song entertains and makes one look forward to its visual interpretation on the screen. Special mention to the chorus which elevates the impact of this melody. Quite nice.

Overall, an excelent album and a worthy addition to one's collection. Take a bow, Mr. Malik!
