Sometimes you feel, that it is good to be little childish and "experience" some things as they come in your life, rather than using your intelligence to anticipate the outcome before taking any decision.Jaane Tu.is a cute movie, but having said that it doesnt fall into the trap of most other movies of this genre.It doesnt take the audience intelligence for granted.In fact, that is the reason, why you dont scorn in disbelief when you see Jai's dad speaking for the first time.You secretly admire the ingenuity of the creaters of the movie.
There are no serious issues that this movie deals with, but that doesnt make it any less significant.May be this movie may not last the test of time, as in this may not be an all-time favourite like qsqt/ddlj, but it wasn't intended that way and you know that.
The best part that I liked about this movie apart from the brilliant music is the charecterisation and the thought process that has gone into creating the same.
Jaihas been brought up as the eternal non-violent guy.So, he has to "think" of other innovative ways to get out of potentially tense situations.And this in-effect leads to some interesting moments on screen, which are adeptly handled.
Aditi has always been the vibrant extrovert, ever ready to pick up a fight, because her parents being supercool, have let her have her way.So, it is very natural that while she expresses her frustration in full force when Jai is attached to Meghna, Jai is composed even when the reality strikes that how much he loves aditi.
Meghna, a very level-headed girl(obviously because she is always the middleman/woman between her parents who are eternally at loggerheads)tries to shut herself off from the reality with her game-whats this?
Amit and Aditi used to be very good friends, but moving on while Aditis charm and outgoing nature finds her many friends, the shy and introvert Amit has only his paintings to fall back upon.While this creates a rift with her sister, this solitude unknowingly converts Amit into a more mature person who can analyse any one quickly.(may be that might be the reason why he was shown as a artist)
Sushant, Aditi's fiancee in order to cover up for his hollow personality takes to Karate And the seemingly new found courage that he gets from a black belt makes him all the more arrogant and ever ready to settly any issues with a fight.
Jai's friends are not all hunks and hot babes, but normal ordinary people with all their grey shades.

*Genelia is as adorable as a cute puppy, while Imran is like the doting dobberman.
Nasserudin Shah and Paresh Rawal do a walk in the park, while Ratna Pathak Shah performance makes us wonder where was she all these years.The Salman brothers are aptly cast.
I am amazed by the vision of Aaamir Khan who decided to produce the film.Director Abbas Tyrewala(who named him like that!) is very good and his dialogues are very real.
