Jaanbaazwas one of the top 10 hindi movies of 1986. The content of the movie wasn't bad being a movie that dealt with drug abuse, sex, violence and mainly more drug abuse it found itself a major hit across cinegoers. Though being one of the least appreciated being directional, and acting wise it was better known for its songs, which till today have enjoying listeners. No wonder its a cult classic. Feroze Khan after qurbani had basically went into exile along with him our good old pal from qurbani vinod khanna also decided to hang up the boots for a while.

Feroze decided to make a comeback with this movie in which he decided to bring the petite Dimple Kapadia and rough and tough arrogant Anil Kapoor. Both of these were having a career high during that time, Anil Kapoor was just starting to experience fame with Doing 'Karma' that year and Dimple being enjoying the popularity of her role in 'Saagar' from '85. Feroze had to look for something new and well he decided to take up drug abuse which was quite new to the asian market at that time, and its a fact that in mid 80s Drugs were starting to become notoriously available to younger generation in Asia,

another funny fact to look out for is that Movie 'Jalwa' starring N.Shah and Archana Purran Singh was in production that Year and that movie also dealt with drugs.

Anyways, the songs to look out for in this movie are ''Pyaar Lo Pyaar Do'' a definete classic 1980s songs, it will bring back memories of the era. ''Tera Saath hai Kitna Pyara'' is also another hit song, definetely a must for a kishore Kumar 80s song addict. The Music is also good, composed by legends Kalyanji Anandji. Directional Wise it needed a bit more care, but feroze decided to go for the looks of the movie and wasted the money on sets and image of the movie rather than script and screen play, though acting is okay but could have been better. Editing was nice, not much to complain but some times you the movie is going into different direction when you thought you are starting to like the movie. I would definetly have jaanbaaz in classic movies of 1980s.

Jaanbaaz might not be as good as Qurbani for feroze khan fans, but it also goes with the fact that it took on a subject which was not yet explored atleast not fully, and it does manage to bring out the reality of it, which eventually leads to it climax. And oh yeah, look out for a cameo of Rekha in the sizziling 'pyaar lo pyaar do' song perfomance
