There is not much to write about a movie like ''Jaal , the Trap''. It is a much worse movie thatn such action flicks of recent months like Hero and Qyayamat.

The film does not even involve the audience by the customary anti Pakistan rhetoric that characterizes films of Sunny.

The film started with a bang with a very well shot chase sequence through the snow covered slopes of the mountains of New Zealand. But the good feeling disappears soon after as Sunny breaks into a patriotic, but useless song.

40% of the film is about Sunny's romance with Tabu, 30% about sunny's romance with reema (or raima )sen and the rest shows some ''hi funda''( to be distinguished from ''high quality'') action.

The film has a very flimsy storyline. Sunny, the son of a security officer, kidnaps the daughter of the Home Minister in order to save his love. ( Parallels can be drawn with a real life kidnapping in 1989. But thankfully, this ends in a better way). He succeeds and is branded a traitor. Then he goes about correcting his mistakes.

He single handedly destroys the top leaders of a terrorist group, and even brings back the leader, whose release the group demanded, safe and sound.

The only good part of the film is the great chase sequences. The first one, followed by one on speedboats, and the climax scene in which the terrorists on jeeps are chasing the train. Sunny had handcuffed Naved Rabbani (Ashish Vidyarthi), the terrorist leader, to the train and the train was moving at full speed. I don't know how that guy survived. The terrorists jumped into the train one by one, and were killed one by one , sweet and simple.

Tabu has been wasted in the film. I have never seen her so expressionless. Hats off to the director to make such a good actress act so badly.

The less is said about Sen, the better.

Amrish Puri has done well, so has Vidyarthi and Mukesh Rishi as terrorists. Sunny has disappointed me.

The music of the film is not up to the mark. There is no point in the film which is entertaining.

But I have not revealed the real secret. To know that, endure the torture for 3 hours as I have. Bye.........
