It was proved yet another time for me that "Haste makes waste".
Was planning for Swiss trip and none of my friends has got a handy cam.... anyways I was thinking from long time ( though never did enough research ) so I thought I would buy one...
Started looking into different sites and stumbled upon this one JVC GZ MG-21, I am highly impressed by the product specifications....32X optical zoom, 20GB HDD in-built and SD card facility and with its sleek looks, I finally ended up buying it. May be also I was lured by its low price.
( I bought it for 250GBP + 50GBP for extra battery and case + 20GBP for 1GB SD card )
Product Specifications:-
-

The video quality was not good, but thought OK for what I spent. Good for outdoor shooting under sunlight but fares poor in indoors.
The picture quality was even worse. 1 hour of battery life is also not so great.
Its not good even in the dept. of Noise - reduction....
32x opitical zoom provided is handicaped by the poor digital image stabiliser, thus making a tripod a must for anything beyond 8x.
Ease of use, Data transfer speed is good.
HDD camcorders are new to market and overall quality of video from this genre is inferior compared to ones using tapes.
So wait for some time or spend a bit more and buy latest models.
