Less than two months after I had gotten a filling("permanent") - it came out.
The experience of getting the filling was not great either - I found myself rebuked when I asked what exactly was going to be done to fix the tooth. Apparently patients here dont deserve to know what is going to happen of them or their tooth & must learn to be satisfied with "i will fix it; don't you worry".
In my opinion, Dr. Ganapathy took the easy way out and did not do a sincere work - by doing what can be done "quickly" and not doing the right thing to do. There was this another(student?) dentist who was watching while my filling was being done and she asked the Doctor why another type of filling was not being done, to which his answer was "it would take me 2 hours do that filling; I could have seen 10 patients in such a time; shall I recover all that fees from this one patient?"
I do realize that health care is a profession and all rules of professionalism - including financial sense - apply to it equally, as it does to other fields. But this is case of professionalism without Ethics.
I would have appreciated if this Doctor told me in advance that my case required a more laborious procedure and what the costs involved might be, rather than provide a sub-par fix.
What more - rates are fixed during the initial examination visit and promptly collected full in cash before they treat you - so once locked in - you are in for a ride, every sitting.
I really did not mind this dentist being avaricious(I strongly believe in spending once and well), but sure don't appreciate the lousy job.
Summary: Bad Quality.
