Zabardast Dhamakedar. Review on Ishqiya

This movie has the same unique Vishal B. touch to it. There is the same UP village set up and the characters are razor sharp like in Omkara. But this movie is far cry from Omkara, firstly it’s not an adaptation and the storyline is fresh and bold. Secondly it is women oriented and tells about the desi women power. All the accolades go to Vidya Balan, she has portrayed the swift mutation from a vulnerable village belle to that of a sharp witted and bold women.

She not only makes an amazing transition but sizzles throughout in the movie. She has carried her voluptuous self with élan and gives the size zero brigades a run for their money.This is the kind of role which suites her, and this is the kind of get-up that makes her rock. Unlike Hey-Baby and Kismat K, where she looks completely disastrous in western outfits she should do more of Ishqiya stuff. The duo Arshad and Naseer are awesome and hilarious. Naseer is a well-known seasoned actor whereas Arshad is gud at playing the side kick always..something we hav seen him doing sicne munna bhai days. He should try something different if he doesn’t want to get stuck in the rut.

The movie is well researched and made. You can see the current issues like Naxals and Anti-Thakur rebellion in villages being brought-up in the movie. They help to add to the action quotient and entertainment factor. It’s a refreshing change from the high-tech crap Bollywood shows in movie which looks absolutely made-up. The language is rustic so you need that kind of taste to appreciate the movie. For those who dig the S-factor, the movies really have some steamy scenes and Vidya Balan has shed off all her inhibitions.

All in all, the movie is zabardast, dhamakedar.
