“If you want something badly, let it go. If it comes back to you, then it’s going to be yours forever. If it doesn’t then it’s never going to be yours…”

I saw this movie when I was in my college. I saw the college life in the movie as well as in my college. I saw flirting, I saw boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, I saw real friendship, I saw people hurting others feeling, I saw people enjoying and playing with others without even thinking of their consequences. But one thing, which touched my soul, is true love. I have written this review just to express some of my views about this movie and the scenes.

A lovely evening at seashore: Alibag trip and spending that fantastic evening with your love, is one of the best scenes. It is one of my pleasant dreams to spend a lovely evening with someone special at seashore. At that evening when they were talking, Payal says, “you know this is something which I have always dreamt and still I can’t believe that it’s true. We are here together”. How innocent feeling this is? I remember when we visited Murud (a beach near to Alibag) with our MBA batch mates. In the evening, people were busy in their own fun and I was enjoying the beauty with someone special, who was still there in my dreams. That time I was sitting alone there although people were calling me to play few games or get involved in some other fun activities. I was just looking into sea. The waves were trying to say something, may be they were trying to pull me out from my dreams. But I was too much occupied with my fantasies and I didn’t listen to those waves. Hey let’s not talk this now. It’s an entirely different story, which I will share sometimes later.

Love vs. Soul:The next part of this evening is worst than any expectation. In those lovely environs of Alibag, there was a different game going on. Raj tries to kiss Payal and play with her. She denies and then he started his stiff language, and says exactly what his intentions are. Although his intentions are very common which every guy pursue, but that girl is not a common girl. She knows what she is supposed to do and what not to do. She was tough to her decisions and they came back to Mumbai. This drama doesn’t end here and it takes some tough curves but it couldn’t bend the character of Payal. I must say here, love will not do any wonder if you don’t have your soul with you and you don’t have your respect with you.

Soggy eyes on KarwaChauth:This scene is one of my favorite scenes from any Bollywood movie. Payal is on fasting on KarwaChauth for Raj. In night, after seeing moon she comes to her room. Raj comes to her room by riding pipes as usual. She offered him water and a piece of sweet. Raj says, “As per tradition now you should touch my feet.”She bend down, touches his feet. Her eyes become soggy and she says, “Ye sirf ek parampara nahi hai Raj, ye mera viswas hai, meri astha hai, aur main humesha chahungi ki tum jaha bhi raho jaise bhi raho humesha khush raho”.I can’t explain the kind of love, the kind of innocence she has in her eyes. I became totally flattered. I would love to do anything (I mean it) for that kind of love. I have seen several emotional scenes in several movies but this is just awesome.

Love Guru:Hmm so here comes a very nice concept, shown in this movie. If you see a real life college story, you will definitely find a guy who is called as love guru. He has every trick to “patao” a girl. In fact, it’s very easy because most of the tricks always work. Trick No 1:First movers advantage: The first guy in the college, who will propose the girl and will show his dedication will be the one who will have that girl as his girlfriend. This principle always works. So, if you are going to college, be the first one to propose a girl. Trick No 2: Approach a girl when she just had a breakup: At the time of breakup a person needs emotional support and this seems to be the perfect time for a guy to approach a girl. You can easily exploit her emotions. Again, this trick also works effectively. There are lots of other tricks as well and it varies from girl to girl.

Love grows by giving. The love we give away is the only love we keep. The only way to retain love is to give it away.

Unconditional Love: Apart from all these college time incidents, tricks and enjoyment, true love does exist in real life. It may happen anytime anywhere. It doesn’t need any trick, it doesn’t need multiple proposals, it doesn’t need going after someone, it doesn’t need Alibag trip and it doesn’t need the help of any love guru. Have you heard, “Dil ki batein hoto se nahi kahte, ye fasana to ankho se bayan hota hai”.If you see the love of Payal in this movie, you will be able to know what a true love means. She loves him from childhood. She has collected every memory associated with him. She remembers each and every moment spent with him. She goes and asks about him when he is hurt although he has ditched her. But again she never compromised with her soul. After seeing her love, I can recollect one song of Jagjit Singh:

Chand bhi dekha, phool bhi dekha…

Badal bijli jugnu titli, koi nahi hai aisa..

Tera pyar hai aisa, tera pyar hai jaisa…

The character of Payal always drags my attention, and makes me feel that love exist. It exists today also. Love is above than any other feeling and relationship. It has dreams, it has sacrifice, it has innocence and it has beauty. I dedicate this review to all those, who has deeply loved someone.

I have pages of content to write on this movie but I know I can write everything here. Thanks for being a part of this story, please proceed to the comment section and share your views.
