I came across this ad for a NEW ORGANIC VEGETABLE SERVICE HOME DELIVERED on Facebook and it intrigued me. Sure we all like and respect organic vegetables and would ideally buy and eat them too but the problem is
1)they are majorly expensive compared to the already expensive routine veggies
2)its not really certified that they are organic and free from pesticides etc. They just say so but its not proven so can be an eyewash.
3)There is no brand in this category that we can trust as consumers.
4)Most of the organic vegetables that are fresh are not available in the open market. One has to go especially to the supermrkets stocking them and its obvious that the infrastructural over head costs incurred by the supermkt are passed on to the consumer so the daily usage item like vegetables become even costlier, making them seem exotic and out of reach of even the upper middle class households.
I SAY ORGANIC is a new venture by Jagriti Agro tech , already an established name in the food business. It has a wonderful website where one can simply key in the desired quantity of the vegetable wanted (the listed price is indicated alongside), give their name and delivery address, also give the preferred time of delivery(so important these days with the working couples) and simply PRESS GO.
The order that I placed was delivered to me within a few hours. The deliveryman was very courteous and the vegetables really looked crisp and very verdant., The peas were really green and the tomatoes a succulent red. I will not hasten to give my recommendation so I also cooked the various veggies and the difference in taste was noticed by the family members also instantly.
The prices are a little higher than the vendor veggie man but only about 10% which is a small premium to pay for eating really hygienic, good quality, CERTIFIED ORGANIC VEGETABLES.
