Banned!. Review on Is MouthShut Justified in Banning Its Members

The question is does Mouth Shut have a right to ban members.

There are 3 types of banning. Banished forever, Flagged, (a blue dot means you can come back if you act better while a red dot means they have lost all of their points and their account has been closed). I have no idea if a member with a red dot can return, if the apologize and act better.

I looked at the members who have been banned and to me they should have been.

I also looked at the members who have been flagged and I believe Suyog, (red dot) and mrpotoatohead, (blue dot), should not have been banned.

Why Are Members banned?

They are banned for plagiarism, 3rd party violation, abusive conduct and harassing other members.

Is It Fair To Do This?

This site belongs to the people who invested in MouthShut. They can do any thing they like. They can even break the contract that you signed when you joined. When I joined MS you were allowed to redeem your points after you wrote reviews for six months. I had been writing reviews for MS for five months, and without warning I received an e-mail saying there would not be redeeming any more points with no expiation why.

I was told we should just write here for the fun of it. At first it was fun. The members were mostly nice and didn't revenge rate. I met people from around the World, and some of us have become e-mail friends.

I watched the site being up dated a few times and I guess MS used the money they earned from our reviews to do that. I would say that means we are all working for MS.

In Canada when you work for some one you get paid. If you don't you are a slave.

What happened to Abbey/abababbey, Tracy/tabyork, achougoo, asyis, spooks, tough_in_cheek, Leah/meleahk1... etc?

I did and three of them are my friends so I asked them. Leah may post a review from time to time but she has a new business now. She won't rate any reviews until she gets paid.

Abbey will not read or rate reviews until she gets paid. Tracy feels the same.

I am going to take a break to go on a holiday and read and learn how to make pottery. During that time I will be thinking about what I'm going to do.

If I have time I will rate some reviews.
