Sometimes, while watching a movie,I will end up thinking but kamal hassan has done this before.It's possibly a couple of things.One kamal's films are so unique,so ahead of their time,that they becme the template for a certain kind of movie.two present day film makers have grown up worshipping these films and they think Okey so this did not work then.may be now's the time.veers between just about watchable and inexplicably dull
