This has happened to me two times. Between 8-8.30 irctc site is down and after 8.30 all tatkal tickets become wait listed. It is taking the public to a ride while our railway minister claims of aam admi friendly. I think the irctc staff keep the site down during these hours.If one wants to genuinely buy the ticket he/she cannot do so.


Irctc can as well online booking for tatkal tickets so that one has to go the booking counter to iook tatkal tickets.
