No more queues... Review on Irctc

For all those who travel a lot by Trains within India know only too well the hassles of booking a ticket, unless you are among those few who have the privelege of using your company travel agent or get someone else to book it for you.

I am refering to those who go in person to the Railway station, stand for hours in a long queue that never seems to move only to be told that the ticket they want is not available or is in Waiting list.. To all those who have been through this and want a relief, well look no more.. The Indian Railways has brought out their website through which we can book tickets sitting in our comfortable surrounding ONLINE . Its as simple as Online shopping or paying your Phone bill ,etc..

Just logon to https://irctc.co.in/ and create a username and passwordfor yourself and this can be used everytime you want to book tickets.. You just have to enter these details and the whole world of Railways is open to you..

Once you sign in, you wil be taken to a page -              &n

;   "Plan My Travel and Book Ticket "that will ask you to key in the details pertaining to your trip - The source and destination, Names of passengers, Dates of travel.. There are two ways of booking a ticket, i-ticket= whereby you book the ticket and the physical ticket is delivered to your doorstep in a day's time or the e-ticket=whereby you jus book the ticket and take a print out of the same(just make sure to carry an Id/photo id proof when you travel,if one passenger among the group has it, just key in those details and carry the same)

The next page shows the list of trains that run in that route and you can take your pick.. You can also check the availability of tickets, the fare by clicking on the buttons and then proceed to book your ticket.. INcase of any doubts, you have to click on Replan your tripand go through this all over again...

And once all the details have been entered and its time to make payment, you have multiple options.. You can use your credit card or just route it through your bank(net banking) and make the payment right away... they even send a copy of the transaction to your email id..if a person in the family has a usernameand password,friends or relatives can use the same to book their tickets, jus make sure to key in the right address(postal address) incase of i-ticket ..

So depending on your mode of ticket, you will either take a print out or wait for the courier... all you need to do now is pack your bags and get ready for a fun trip... Isnt that hassle free??and in case of cancellation, it is done just as easily and the money is credited into your account within a short span of time.. No worries, No sweat , no hassles...

This is very convenient for students and others, also for those who dont want to leave home , stand in long queues, or fill out multiple forms .. All you need is internet connection and a bank account/credit card and you are all set...
