We are brought into this world with either some talent in us which sometimes we never even knew to come along. We endlessly look for it and one day you’d never know you have found the one and only thing which can make you the person you are today. We follow our hearts and obviously know it is the only route to success once you believe. All of us have some special talent and it is part of the way of life. People become singers, actors heck they even become cricketers. Why did do they become what they are now? Well..that is what was set out for them.

Iqbal:

is the story of goal and the way life is when you don’t get the thing you feel to conquer most, knowing you can accomplish it. Iqbal is a young boy who is deaf and dumb. Being in such a situation, he has a talent. A talent which brings out his determination where he thinks to do his best and makes him happy.

He goes through such a life where he bears it all but never gives up his hope. Cricket on the other hand is a part of his lifestyle and his thoughts. His one and only aim and goal. However, troubles comes along when his father who is against Cricket just by the sound of it.

Does Iqbal be able to conquer his dream? Watch Iqbal and find out...

Performances

I’d like to start off with the main character in this film. Iqbal, Shreyas Talpade. For his acting I was highly impressed and it looked so real and interesting to watch. Shweta Prasad playing the role as Iqbal’s sister and she did pretty well. I found her acting as wonderful as her brother's character in the film. She set out a good example due to her character. Naseruddin Shah as Iqbal’s coach has done some astounding work and I never expected a role like this from him but he did awfully well and surprised me a lot.

With a bit of Girish Karnad and Yateen Karyekar. Performances by all are also very impressive to watch and brings more of a real life feeling to it.

General Thoughts About The Movie

I can say that Cricket is one of my favorite sports and being brought up watching it here and there I guess by watching it all in the film as well...I got engrossed into the apt sensation and atmosphere of the game. There is no sort of way that I found more of a common story. It seems like a different story and nothing whatsoever like other films that I have seen. It shows the techniques Iqbal has as a cricketer and all the things he accomplishes to believe in himself is very enlightening. Especially to cricket lovers.

One thing I really liked to watch in the film is the chemistry of Iqbal and his sister. They seem so close and determined to help each other always. As for the chemistry between Iqbal and his parents is very interesting and it is like you are watching something right infront of your eyes and not on screen. That is the thing I director has to have when making a film. Bringing in such reality for such plot’s is a way of entertaining the audience with an unforgettable on screen experience.

Naseruddin Shah gave in some value to the film. I never really appreciated his presence in most film but in this one I got him without even predicting or asking. The way he coaches Iqbal and his actions are so enlightening that you just feel like playing the game right at this moment. Where in Naseruddin brings in some very good excitement and comfort to the film making cricket lovers...love cricket even more :D.

Not giving out any faults and mistakes here. I find the story had a balanced meaning to it. I know it was not meant for one to literally cry..but err what can I say, I’m emotional :(

Music

Salim Sulaiman who I’d say brings in some very comfortable and entertaining music went in well with Sukhwinder Singh’s music and likes so well that I’d give two thumbs up! The music is just so enlightening in a way and also brings out a bit of confidence and matches in well where in the films main environment is set out. Aashaayen has some nice beats to it and the guitar just goes in so well with the wordings. Aankhon Mein Sapna comes the start with the piano and then goes into some nice rhythmic wordings as well and the singer sings it so well as his voice matches in very well with the music.

Then they have the song, Mutthi Mein Aasmaan. This song has some very beatable feeling to it and is much faster than the others in a way. Nice to listen to when your in an outside atmosphere. Khelenge Khelenge is also fun and rhythmic to listen to. Maula didn’t really impress me that much. I didn’t really find it that interesting. The song Paani is surprisingly a good song to listen to. I like the tabla in the background. Coming to the last song..Tum Tana has some really nice music with an awesome beat to it. I love the tabla again.

Last Words

I’m a little bit late at writing these reviews at such a late time after the films are released so long before. You get my whole sense of problem don’t you. I won’t repeat it again. So, you see this review may have made no use to you. However, coming to Iqbal, it's something to watch and brings out such a different meaning to what someones own talent can give out to them and an audience. A must watch.
