Saw iqbal and loved it .. yes I am partial to kukunoor. .. but for someone who is far removed from the sport iqbal managed to keep my attention 100% on the film...
having said all of the above subhash ghai should have resisted from making the climax very bollywood esque..
shreyas talpade (iqbal) is brilliant.. I have to confess I hated this guy when he did marathi tv.. but he has grown .. thn theres marathi theatre jingbang .. his mom prateeksha lonkar and dad yateen karyekar .. thn theres naseeruddin and karnad.. great performance by naseeruddin and karnad is good but not tht good...
the film is not about any one thing in particular , its about life , how we face it , overcomin shortfalls and while it does this it has a lot of other stories in the background , that of the father as a poor farmer, naseer as a person who gave up on life , karnad as a businessman.. the sister and mother as the support system , loving and caring in their own ways..
see this film to understand the not so glam part of india , the villages, the people
