Hello, I am Tarun Bansal and I want to share my experience about Intex Aqua S7.

They say slow and steady wins the race. seems like home-grown Intex has taken it upon itself to stick to the moniker in the budget smartphone space. With modest beginning selling speakers and mini-sound systems specifically meant for the desktop/laptop audiences, the Indian company slowly and gradually made inroads into the pocket-friendly smartphone segment. The segment is currently dominated by Chinese brands. With Aqua S7, Intex has sent out a war-cry to these brands. here's our detailed review of the handset.

Design and display:

The 5-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1280p HD resolution and Asahi's Dragontail glass bears a striking similitude to Apple's iPhones. However, unlike the latter, it doesn't have any physical button/navigation keys on the display bezel- the Back, Home and Recent button are embedded within the display. The 5MP front camera, proximity and ambient light sensors, and receiver are placed on the top, with 3.5mm headphone jack located at the left edge. The micro-USB/charger port, speaker grille, and microphone are located at the bottom left edge.

The rear removable panel is where the main action starts. Made of plastic with matte finish, the panel displays the Intex branding towards the lower half. The top half consists of 13MP rear camera with LED flash and camera sensor along with a fingerprint sensor right below it. The placing of the fingerprint sensor adds the extra edge of ease and accessibilty. This stems from the fact that while holding a mobile handset, the usual posture is to have your fingers on the back. It help in an easy unlooking of the phone.

The power and volume rockers are neatly placed on the right edge.

Performance:

Preloaded with Android Marshmallow 9 operating system, the Aqua S7 is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor which is backed by a 3GB RAM. This makes browsing through applications and flipping in between them smoother and sans any lags . while playing heavy-graphics games the interface was quite swift as well. That said, the device does take a couple of seconds longer to power on and shut down.

In terms of battery specifications, the device comes with a 3,200mAh battery backup.

The smartphone offers a dual-SIM capability with a separate micro-SD card slot.

Taking about the camera performance, the budget smartphone offers a 13MP and 5MP rear-front camera configuration as stated earliar. Both support full-HD recording as a result of which the quality of images captured stays good even when zoomed in.

Coming to the sound specifications and call quality, the Aqua S7 scores well. Being 4G VOLTE-compatible device, it throws back clear sounds.

The speaker is tad louder which in fact works in its favour. It is loud enough to notify users even in heavily crowded places of incoming calls, text, etc. The call quality is good too and conversations are loud and clear in areas with low connectivity as well. A bit of jarring was, however, observed when we tried to play loud, heavy bass music.

The best part about Intex Aqua S7 is its fingerprint sensor. With an almost instant response time within the blink of an eye, the feature stands out amongst all. With the sensor, one can even click photos by gently tapping on it while operating the camera.

Verdict:

The Intex Aqua S7is available at a price tag of Rs 9,499. With the specification it boasts of, we would definitely recommend it for all looking for an "all-in". It is worth the investment in totality. At approximately 150 gram, the handset might just be at the borderline of being heavy, but for the excellent design, egro and build quality, the device would hardly disappoint you. Make in India? you bet buddy.
