Story:

When I first read the book written by the famed authoress Anne Rice, I was skeptical and was at first only seeking to read the book once I've watched the movie and read her third book of the series Queen of the Damned. I was never much of a fan for the Vampire Literary Genre, and was not going to be, since most of the books written about these supernatural beings are often shallow and easily predicted from the beginning to the end. But even before I have finished reading the first page, I knew that I was a hook line and sinker for once you read this book, you can hardly put it down.

At first I loved the way that Mrs. Rice wrote the novel, it was simple yet intricate, straight and yet owns a very complex story telling that by the time you place the book, down your spine will be easily tingled due to the sheer realism and detail that Mrs. Rice inserted into the book. It was an easy read but actually makes you wonder in the end, whether are there really vampires among us.

The book starts of innocently as a young reporter begins interviewing what the he skeptically believes as a vampire. Like any normal human, he did not belief our narrator Louis who claimed that he is more than 200 years old and that he was telling the absolute truth. Our reporter Mr. Daniel of course turned cynical and that was when Louis showed some of his vampiric prowess and that was when, my interest for the book grew.

There was a difference I concurred while reading IWTV and TQOTD, for once the latter book was quite giddy and for me a bit unstable due to the changes of time and scene that completely threw me off until the last few chapters. But in Interview, the plot and setting was stable, easily visualise and penned with a dark air which our authoress is accustomed too.

I absolutely adored the story focusing between the two faced sides of Lestat for his ageing father, Louis for his redemption and self destructive needs and the scene stealer of them all, the adult minded Claudia, cursed for eternity to stay in a child's body as her mind grew wiser beyond her yeas. A book for all those who seek something fresh and for those who yearns for a great story during a winter's night.
