Great Science & Visual Journey But Not 4 Everyone!

I'm tempted to rate this movie anything between 2 to 5 stars and that's because you'll have audience watching the movie with awe while at the same time many might like to sleep through it!

Not a great story though, this time around Americans are not trying to save the world. They are thinking of saving the human species(and if possible the surviving people also) by taking them to another habitable planet. And this movie is about finding one!

It'll be a good idea to brush up few scientific concepts BEFORE watching this movie. These are concepts like Gravity, Dimensions(3 / 4 / 5 Dimensions), Wormhole, Black hole, Galaxy, Speed of Light, Theory of Relativity, Quantum Physics, Time Travel etc. There are plenty of tutorial videos out there on YouTube.

In terms of story line or even visual splendor, I'll say it still doesn't beat the movie INCEPTION by the same director. But then this one is different. Advised by renowned scientists in the field, the Director has made a very honest effort to show the realistic picture of space travel and other things.

I wouldn't dare to compare the movie with 2001: A Space Odyssey. That was completely in a different league. I always wonder how anyone could even make that kind of movie in 60s. This movie is about the Director, the cinematographer and his tech team. But for Anna Hathaway, I'm not a great fan of any of the star cast. Just anyone would have done as good.

And if you are not a great fan of Science fiction or Space science, this movie may not be for you. Read the story summary beforehand, if you must to make it understandable to you.

I watched this movie in an IMAX theater. It was a great experience. Please make sure you get tickets for 8th row or even further, otherwise it might cause you headache.

HAPPY WATCHING!
