Like everybody else, I too had a dream of becoming a management graduate and like everybody else I am one of the unfortunate who could not make due to personal reasons. Hence had to start work with what ever I have learned. I know very well that what I have learned is just handful of sand and there is so much to learn. I limited my self to become a management professional.
Being from a middle class family, you cannot just quit a job and join institutions after all there is a family to feed. The only option is distant education – Actually a nice concept but is it in par with the Quality of regular studies?
As a boon to came an adv in the local newspaper that IMT has started distant education and will provide PGDBA. Having learned so many good things about IMT (based of the regular courses) a bunch of us joined and not just I and many others were like me who wanted to pursue higher studies either to get a promotion, salary hike or use this platform to switch their jobs.
The course started and went fine. Being in software industry, getting an onsite opportunity is common. I got to work in a foreign land at the cost of missing my final semester exams.
Well, if it’s just one more semester no body will like to keep it handing on your head instead you will look at closing it and get a client appreciation if possible and use the same for your promotion / salary hike.I had sent mail after mail to the head of distance education and couple more who ever I found playing a part in distant education. I was also ready to change my course to an online course and will also pay more if required.
After so many mails one single reply I got was "You have 3 more years to complete the course".This does not even give any more detail for the queries I had.Leave you to crib. I at times feel I made a blunder joining a distant education programAfter all these years I am an incomplete management graduate….
I don’t understand if the distant education has attained its full growth or is it the problem with the institute and its course?
