Why is InOrbit one of my favorite shopping malls? It’s got everything I could possibly want, from clothes, jewellery, accessories, luggage, shoes, cell phones, electronics, groceries, a sprawling food court, and they even have a multiplex! And I love that InOrbit has plenty of parking space, both at ground level and in the basement. You’ll never have to waste precious shopping time waiting in parking queues even on weekend evenings, as happens so often at malls like Infinity. Parking charges can be a bit steep, but if you have a Shoppers Stop gold card, you can flash your card at the Shoppers Stop payment counter and get a parking redemption voucher.

Let’s go over what you can get on each floor, starting with the ground floor. If you just want to do some window shopping, you can walk around Shoppers Stop or Lifestyle, till something catches your eye. The Shoppers Stop here has a sprawling Mothercare on the first floor and Home Stop on the second floor. You can get your week’s grocery and fruit and veggie shopping done at Spencers. Spencers has some great deals all through the week, and I love their international section, with pastas, sauces, juices… you name it, they have it. And they even have a little corner near the cash counters where you can get a quick bite and sip.

There’s so much more at the ground level. I love the shoes at Charles and Keith, and the accessories at Aldo. If you want slightly less expensive shoes there’s Mochi, Liberty Revolutions, and Regal (or is it Metro, I always confuse the two). Twisted is excellent for hair accessories, they have some really cute things. If you’re looking for luggage, there’s Giordanno and Samsonite. Remanika and Be are great for cute tops and skirts. If you like jewelry, you are spoilt for choice. There’s Tanishq, Orra, and Tribhovandas for the real thing. If you don’t want to spend a bomb, there’s Sia and another store that sells beautiful sterling silver jewelry, can’t remember the name. And there’s a little Hidesign boutique that has some really lovely bags and jackets, if you’re into leather.

The first floor is brand heaven. My favorite Levis store is the one at InOrbit. The sales staff are very helpful and really know the different fits and make great suggestions. And they’ll help dig out the color and fit you prefer. Then there are the usual Benetton, Lee, Wrangler, and Wills Lifestyle stores. And there are kiddie stores like Lilliput, Scram, and Barbie. If you’re looking for ethnic wear, there’s FabIndia, W, Sheetal, and other shops. I’m not too familiar with these stores because I’m a hardcore Levis girl. There are plenty of other stores at InOrbit, but these are the ones I could remember. You should go check it out for yourselves, and free up an entire day for the full InOrbit experience.

And the second floor is the food court and also where you’d enter the Fame multiplex. I don’t like the Fame here much, it seems cramped and tiny. As for the food, being a creature of habit, I usually stick to Subway, I love their paneer tikka and veggie delite subs. But when I’m feeling more adventurous, I’ve been known to try Santiagos (love their pizza slices), Dosa Diner or Dosa Plaza (they have adorable mini idlis), Kailash Parbat or Sanskriti (for their yummy chaats), and Bombay Blues (if you can find a place that serves a larger glass of iced tea, the iced tea is on me!). For something healthier, you can get a fresh juice at Juice World. And if you like baked goodies, you can go wild at BreadTalk or Birdies and pick up a delicious croissant and pastry.

If you prefer the restaurant ambience over the food court, you can go to Pizza Hut (if you like pizzas that are all crust and little or no cheese and toppings, gross) or Rajdhani (if you like thalis and chaas, I’m not a fan, but their corn halwa is delicious). There’s also a little Nandos tucked away, which has really nice ambience and I love the way it’s designed. They specialize in Perri Perri and is great for meat eaters, but is really sad for vegetarians. The only thing I’ve ever liked there are the mocktails. There’s a kiddie play area right outside Nandos, where parents can leave their children. There’s also a gaming zone nearby, with videogames, air hockey, and other avenues of amusement for those who’d rather waste their time playing when they could be shopping :)

For dessert I usually head to Gelato Gelato (you have to try their Madagascar Dark Choc gelato), Naturals (nothing beats their coffee walnut), Baskin Robbins (the unadventurous me sticks to their Strawberry Banana), Brownie Cottage (with so many different brownies to choose from, my only constant is the vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce), or Mad’O’Donuts (so many choices, it drives me crazy). If you’re there just for a quick coffee or snack, you can go sit inside Barista. And if coffee is what you’re looking for, you can also get your fix at the Café Coffee Day or the Coffee World outlets at the ground level. The ground level also has CookieMan, if cookies are what you’re after. Other than cookies, you’ll find delicious coffee and muffins here.

What I love is that you’ll find practically everything you need at InOrbit. If you think it’s time for a trim, there’s a small L’oreal salon at the ground level, I just can’t remember the name. I have a regular stylist I go to, so I’ve never stepped in. But it looks clean and professionally run. If your glasses or lens are giving you trouble, there’s Vision World, also at the ground level. And you could end your shopping and eating spree at InOrbit with a stop at Aroma Thai, which is at the first floor. It’s a Thai massage place, very professional, very clean, and they give amazingly relaxing foot massages, perfect for when your feet are tired from all that shopping and trying on so many shoes :) So shop till you’re ready to drop, and then go get a refreshing massage and shop some more :)
