Travel Convenience:

My in-laws had come from Mumbai and we wanted to  take them out somewhere...we  wanted to do something light, not much of a travel and nothing adventurous. After reading a few reviews..we decided to give IFC a try...

We are a little hesitant as it was a Sunday.. worried about the rush...but then we thought places like these can be better enjoyed if there is a crowd.  We started at around 10:30 AM from blore and took the mysore road...the roads are excellent and had no problem reaching the place. There are enough indicators on the way.

The road off the highway towards IFC, is also good. So absolutely no probs reaching the place, inspite of the heavy rains that has been lashing blore for the last few days. It took us approx 1 hour to reach the place.  There is sufficient parking right in front of the park. It is not a organised parking or something...but there are staff to guide you to park your vehicle on the road side.

Huge gates with basic security check...welcome you....the ticket counters are located behind the gates as you walk down the stairs...there are enough people to guide you on the various activities that one can do..and they even give you a handout with directions..which I think is pretty useful.

The enterance fee is Rs.50 per head and the tickets for the activities can be bought at the respective counter....They even have a package deal...where all activities are covered and it costs Rs. 599/-  per person. There are camera charges too...Rs.100/-  for still camera and little more for video cams..

The entrance into the park is awesome...it is a huge structure with European designs. As soon u enter the park there are shops on the both sides of the main street...if you have visited Hiranandani property in Powai, Mumbai it is similar to that..but just that  IFC is lot cleaner and newer... Bata showroom and a couple of small shops are the only shops that's open as of now....

As you walk down the lane..the activity centre starts....The first place we visited was the mirror maze, a maze full of mirrors and dimly lit red ligts. The charge is  Rs. 50/- per person...think it is value for money..we tried good 20 minutes to get out of the maze....but finally, we were guided out by the staff there. It is actually a lot of fun...

Then we visited the Louis Tussad wax museum which again cost Rs. 50/- per person..it was quite good...we did click a lot of snaps and the photos came out pretty well...Just outside the museum is an interesting stall,  they make wax impression of you hand...Something very different...impression of a single hand costs  Rs. 50/- . U need to dip you hand in the wax  (a little hot) and the impression of your hand, the way u want it, is created...then he fills it up with wax and the model hand is ready...the whole process takes about 30 minutes..trust me..the model is awesome...

While my third hand was getting ready..we decide to go to  funplex...which is adjacent to the wax museum...there are  lot of video games that  one can choose from...but the prices are unreasonable...for Ex.one needs to buy a smart card for Rs.120 and u get rides worth Rs.20/- on that...hello ?????

The same place has a 4D movie screen..this I think is the highlight of the park....the ticket costs Rs. 100/- per head..but worth every penny...the experience is best experienced than explained....dont miss it...

Then it was time for food..the food court is located just adjacent to the funplex..the place has a wide variety of food items and is reasonably priced...u need to buy coupons at a common counter. The most bugging part about this is that the cashier at the counter has no clue of the price of items..so u need to go back and remember the price before u order...if u have big long orders...then God save u !!!

The next place we visited was the go-karting zone....the speed carts were not available because of the rain...it was considered too risky to drive on wet tracks....however the  family carts were available...it was good fun..the charges are Rs.150/- for 6 laps..which we felt was ok...

The rains picked up and made us run for shelter..there are cute tents piched around the gamezone ..we took shelter in  one of them..there are Cafe coffee day outlets all around the place...sitting in the tent and sipping coffee was also a wonderful experience..

Finally after the rain stopped, we visited the dinosaur park....it was better than we expected...just a word of caution...this place might scare the infants or small kids. Our two year old son, Adhvaith, was not ready to enter the place after hearing the noises at the gates...

We decided to skip " Ripley's belive it or not..." , "fossil park" , " Aqua world" & "Miniature City"....  which we were told is nothing great...There are a few more rides and games...which have coming soon board....so I guess it will take another 6 months for the park to be fully functional...

Overall, a enjoyable day and a great  "one day" getaway....guess we would have more fun if there was a bigger group..Finally.. Since the place is painted with bright colors...the photographs come out really nice...so don’t forget to carry your camera...
