I registered for Inner Engineering program to be held on 24 Jan 2022. I did the registrations in Dec second week.
By the second week of Jan the country facing third wave. I approached them through email and called on 16th Jan asking for a refund given the cases. The concerned person(Sunil) said that the program is going on as per the schedule and if I want a refund they will deduct 20%(i.e. Rs.6, 000).
I protested but they said this is the policy(this is on email).
Sunil also said that all the participants have been asked to carry a covid test kit when they arrive for the program. Those who are found positive will be asked to leave.
I was quite shocked.
I said "Isn't there a huge risk when that covid positive person travels back in public transport?"
The answer came, "it is an individual's choice if they want to come or not. The program will run as it is."
Reluctantly I accepted to get the balance refund.
After 14 days I got to know that the program was cancelled by the foundation on 19th Jan on account of increasing cases.
I came to know from another participant(the centre obviously didn't bother to inform).
I called Sunil again(as he was not responding to the emails) asking for a complete refund as the program has been cancelled by the foundation.
After an unpleasant argument of few minutes(wherein he did not agree to complete refund), I gave up.
In a nutshell, I cancelled the program because of the covid cases and they deducted 20% while refunding. Later they cancelled the program for the same reason but are not willing to refund the amount for a program that never took place!
I was looking forward to the program but this experience has left a very bad taste.
